Austinlgt05 Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Im looking to buy a perrin recirc bov for my 05 lgt. A buddy of mine is selling me his that he bought for his 02-03 wrx but never ended up using, will it fit on my car ? I know most bov's are universal but i just wanted to make sure it will fit
Austinlgt05 Posted January 22, 2014 Author Posted January 22, 2014 Just the fact that i can get the bov for cheap so why not? Just wanna know if it will fit
Nightmaresmk Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 Our cars use By pass valves if you put on a Blow off valve you will hurt your car and it will run like poo.
PtPixel Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 So long as you don't run 100% vent-to-atmosphere you will be fine. Don't know much about those BOVs but I think the perrin one is recirculating only? If this is the BOV in question I don't think it will fit without any modifications as our recirc lines don't use a flange connection but instead a hose clamp connection. Here is the perrin BOV for out GTs. the model numbers are different so there might be some key differences. (WRX: PSP-INT-600BK, LGT: PSP-INT-610BK)
Nrw Posted January 22, 2014 Posted January 22, 2014 If it was for a 02-03 WRX the flange is different.
Austinlgt05 Posted February 4, 2014 Author Posted February 4, 2014 Would i be able to buy a legacy gt flange and swap it with the wrx one ?
KCwagon Posted February 4, 2014 Posted February 4, 2014 You might talk to Perrin to see if it is possible. It seems like a lot of effort for no gains, however.
GEE-OTTO Posted February 5, 2014 Posted February 5, 2014 Valve wont fit as the TMIC styles are different between the 05-09 LGT and the 02-03 WRX. If the flange is a separate part you could buy a 08+ WRX flange and it will fit. Since it is a recirc valve you wont exp any issues unless the valve is malfunctioning.
