Its like a millimeter or two off an i cant get thoughs bolt in so I got a heavy leak an sounds like crap. Me an my buddy tried to push it over little more but wouldnt budge. Anybody got some suggestions to get them on?? will put pic if it helps
Kevlar_07 Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 A come along or heavy duty ratchet strap? you might need to heat them a bit to make them more pliable. I've never installed a set of headers but am tempted to do so on my 96. Hopefully some one with experience with them will chime in.
twisty Posted January 15, 2014 Posted January 15, 2014 if the holes are out to the outside, use a strap and pull them closer in. if they are opposite, find a good anchor on the opposite side and pull it out a bit. or use a punch and big ass hammer and force it with some heat applied. the big ass hammer option will leave marks tho. if its a rotation thing, ive used straps and a strap wrench at the same time to accomplish. it may take a few tries, and a few thrown tools before it gets where it needs to be. definitely a few beers.
spooln30 Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Can't you just open some of the holes for the studs up a bit? Otherwise if your forcing the pipe on your stressing the exhaust studs a whole lot. I had to open the holes on my exhaust manifold for my Supra. Just worked each hole which ever way they needed to go.
