STik Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 So the turbo just went on my XT at 145k. A week and a half before my wedding. :13: I happen to have a complete 07 WRX EJ with 17k on it, but it hasnt been run in 4 years. (Long story, that.) So a) are the heads/turbo identical, b) does it matter with the whole engine being dropped in, c) would I be better off swapping turbos or complete motors, and d) what would I need to do/be careful of with an engine that hasnt been run for so long? Thanks!
Max Capacity Posted January 13, 2014 Posted January 13, 2014 If it will accept your wire harness, you may want to pre oil the turbo. But with my new EJ257 I just started it like the factory does. Had oil pressure in a couple seconds. email Mike at www.AZPinstalls.com he's in NJ and can help you out with info and parts if you need. He'd know the answer to your question. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it.
