TheBlackPearl Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 A "belt" started squeaking last week, I actually have time today so I pulled my car into the garage on blocks to investigate the noise and change the oil. Crank pully is wiggling and I believe is the culprit of said noise. The CP is a dampener/balancer huh? :-/ I've read that with a 5EAT to just replace with an OEM piece. Sound about right? Haven't researched it completly yet, but I will. The vid upload quality sucks, played strait from my phone you can totally hear it... http://i476.photobucket.com/albums/rr126/mikabuc/th_20140110_115115_zps70f0e6a9.jpg Self proclaimed PNW Craiglist find of the day Champion, April 2014.

starionesir Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 I think is trying to say its a pulley not a harmonic dampener like some cars have. I am running a perrin crank pulley on my 5EAT with no issues at all.
JmP6889928 Posted January 10, 2014 Posted January 10, 2014 Agency Power pulley kit on mine (5EAT) with P/S pulley too. Never been an issue in about 35K.

TheBlackPearl Posted February 2, 2014 Author Posted February 2, 2014 The OEM pulley finally went today. I pulled out of the house earlier, smelt burning rubber, popped the hood at the stop sign at end of street, saw that I threw my AC belt, and saw my CP a wigglin' like a mofo, about to totally seperate. Reversed it back home and into the garage and threw that AP crank pulley on finally. Install went totally smooth, only sketchy parts were having to brace my breaker bar on the frame rail and blip the ignition to get the nut loose, and then to get it on, I tightened the hell out of the accy belts and stuck a ratchet handle thru the PS pulley and braced it against the bracket while I torqued the nut to 93 ft.lbs. All in all it's a good short Saturday afternoon project and excuse to knock back a few cold ones. Self proclaimed PNW Craiglist find of the day Champion, April 2014.
