Dorman 65236

Available from Advance Auto Parts, etc.

For some reason, some aftermarket up-pipes have an M12-1.5 bung, although the OEM bung is M12-1.25. This bolt is 1.5.

It's about 5mm too long; rather than grind it down, you can sandwich a steel flat washer between 2 copper or aluminum crush washers for a quick & easy seal.

FWIW, at least one of us finds it easier to bolt the turbo to the up pipe using OEM bolts.

I'm thinking this is the bolt I used to bolt the turbo to the up pipe.

Special thanks to wileycoyote0022 for compiling this list

If you do have numbers that are listed as ????, please let me know and I can insert them so we have them all in a single post.

Thanks much,

JMP

After the second time I turned a wrench on my car, I couldn't stand it any longer. So I finally compose the list of nuts, bolts, and washers that see get the most weathering; suspension, chassis, motor mounts, transmission mounts, and a few others. The description is just to give you an idea of the location, cause I'm sure its not "technically" correct. There were a couple part numbers/prices I couldn't find.

I used opposedforces.com/parts , to look up part numbers. I know there are alot of subaru oem online part stores, but I liked this one the best IMO, easiest site to navigate.

Second site was http://www.subarupartsdepot.com . They had the best prices all around that I could find.

I hope this helps someone.

Ref, post 188, For more nuts and bolts, see post #128.

I would also think, McMaster-Carr would carry the same selection of flange nuts and bolts. They have a thick catalog that I have been ordering items out for years here at work.

I think that is where I got the brass "T" fitting I use to T the fuel pressure Regulator into the small vacuum hose off the blow off valve for a me constant signal.

To answer your questions about the JM VF52, I don't have any experience with that particular model but I can say that the inconsistencies of most of the "ChinaChargers" make them a bit of a dangerous option. I've rebuilt a few of them and once redone, they are OK but usually the turbine/shaft assembly is out of balance and some of the connectors are pretty cheap.

I could probably turn one into a good turbo if I had one, but I don't have one now to work with.

Here are the Dorman shafts with replaceable U joints.

Dorman 936-955 is the 5mt driveshaft.

936-954 is the 5eat's.

Found them for about $315.00 on Rock Auto

Update; I would call and talk to someone to make sure this fits your car. I see they are around $425.00 now Feb 2020.

I see there are different OEM p/n's, https://parts.subaruonlineparts.com/search?search_str=propeller+shaft

Make sure you order the correct one.

Just checked, Feb 12 2021 that Dorman will work, I also found The Driveshaft Store in CA is a great place to get these, I bought one of theirs July 2020
