b106b Posted January 3, 2014 Posted January 3, 2014 I got the all-in-one key from fred beans and went to transplanting the transponder from one of my keys to the new key. I found the programming guide on LGT, which was easy. The part that wasn't simple was knowing where the transponder is, in the key. It didn't seem like anyone had posted that anywhere. I took a dremel and cut along the edge. I pried the top and bottom halves off the brass blank. The transponder is located in a plastic, triangular mounting that sits in that cutout of the brass. http://i43.tinypic.com/15mn537.jpg Hopefully that helps someone looking to use the all-in-one.
skwiggly Posted March 11, 2016 Posted March 11, 2016 I thought I'd add a picture of my 2007 specB key for reference, since the transponder placement seems to be flipped on mine. I removed the emblem side, just like OP. I was nervous about accidentally hitting the transponder with my dremel, so I cut further into the right side, and just missed it! But the overall method of cutting around the edge and then prying the entire top half off with pliers works well.
