Turkeylord
^ Good to hear, enjoy! Quick pic here at my desk till I get home and take some better ones... http://i.imgur.com/9kHnrPk.jpg That's the new 1/4" barb fittings in my GS EBCS. That's the stock straight-90-straight config as comes from GS, but I think straight-90-90 would be better and keep the vac line off the alternator... N.Y.X.
^^answered my question. When you re-install and figure out the best setup for the EBCS I'd like a "complete set" if you will. I saw someone mention getting another T for their boost gauge, is this also recommended? If so can you shoot me a PM for 2-T's and the EBCS fittings shipped to 80207? Thanks! Turkeylord
Well for me, it's straight-90-90 for the GS mount location. The COBB's bracket however mounts it closer to the inlet and I think comes with 3 90s. The "port 1" fitting isn't strictly necessary, but it does let you eliminate the factory reducer for one less potential problem. Trying to figure out if there's a simple way for you guys to configure your orders, or I might just default to include 2 90s and a straight and handle special requests via PM. <shrug>
N.Y.X.
I apologize, I should have mentioned I would be using them on a Grimmspeed EBCS. And what about the extra T fitting to run a boost gauge (I'm picking up everything to go stage 3 over the next couple of months and just want to have everything collected)? Turkeylord
No problem, I think 90% have the GS one. I've found that different boost gauges come with different size line - but mine came with the smallest of the bunch, 1/8", and I was able to stretch it on the middle port of the tee. Msprank has used one to plumb a gauge and was happy with it.
Saltysubie
Great timing, I ordered two. I was just hooking up all my vac lines and was looking for a decent replacement for that tee. This looks much nicer than the alternatives I was looking at. I'd also be interested in those EBCS fittings as well. My BNR 18G turbo came with a brass 1/4" barbed fitting (surprised to see that). I had to use reducer fittings and smaller diameter tubing to hook up to the Grimmspeed. It would be much cleaner to run the larger hose throughout. Turkeylord
Perfect, if I send you some EBCS fittings would you be willing to get them installed and post a couple pics?
discojon
Perfect, if I send you some EBCS fittings would you be willing to get them installed and post a couple pics? If he doesn't I'd be glad too. My bnr 18g is the same way and will be going in next week. I already got your blue tee replacement.

Saltysubie
Here's the issue that Turkeylord's fittings will address when connecting the Grimmspeed EBCS (with small "vac" hose fittings) to the new BNR turbo housing (with larger fittings). You could alternatively use reducer fittings on the hose, but that makes for two additional connection points for each hose. I'd rather only use as few connections as are necessary for the job in order to reduce the potential for additional leaks and to also get a cleaner installation. Turkeylord
Interesting - yours is mounted in a different location than mine. Mine is installed per GrimmSpeed's video: http://i.imgur.com/8uDLdjt.png The boost nipple on your turbo is different too...
Saltysubie
Interesting - yours is mounted in a different location than mine. Mine is installed per GrimmSpeed's video: Yup. The Grimmspeed website has several videos for installation instructions. One of them shows them mounting it in the position you have shown (for the Legacy GT). Their pdf installation instructions shows the EBCS mounted in the stock boost controller location. There are pros/cons for each location, but as you noted earlier, the "right-side" port kind of interferes with the alternator when mounted on the same bolt as the MAP sensor. The downside of the stock location is that the EBCS must be dismounted to get at that back port under the intake manifold. I was surprised to see the brass barbed fitting on the BNR turbo I received. At first, I thought it was a mistake. Seems like it will work though.

Saltysubie
Got the fittings and installed them last night for the Grimmspeed EBCS. What a difference! The tubing fit nice and secure. You can really feel how much better they are holding compared to the small fittings that come standard with this EBCS. Blue tee comparison and installed. I'm confident in this connection now. The new tee is made of quality materials and comes with the correct size ports on the tee branches - very nice and recommend everyone do this upgrade. Here's a comparison of the new fittings: Here's a comparison of the old fitting and new fitting installed: You can order different fittings from Turkeylord to make the hose routing cleaner. A 90 elbow on the intake port connection makes it easier to route around the other engine components. The fittings are tapered, so they get hard to turn at some point. I noticed that the original Grimmspeed ports were sealed with something that looked like white pipe dope.
