LegacyCamper Posted December 14, 2013 Posted December 14, 2013 I know this has been asked before but I dont really understand what I need to do so was hoping to get some advice. Our 98 Legacy 250t model had its air suspension replaced with coils over the mcpherson struts (i think). Now its too low, it bottoms out over bumps and often the tow bar will bottom out over steep driveways. We want to do some light off road work (hard sand and flat farms). What is my cheapest option to either get it back to standard height and even better raise it some? Im presuming Outback struts etc as per the FAQ? If so Im wondering the best way to source quality ones that arent shot etc. How much would it cost roughly for a mechanic to install? (i have no garage or tools anymore) Also will the coils and struts currently be on it worth anything on the used market to subsidise the mod?
Entrepit Posted January 5, 2014 Posted January 5, 2014 With my 4runner I installed Tacoma TRD progressive rate springs for my front lift. I used one of these from the link, and had hundreds of options, ultimately found a great set with only 40k miles on them off a Taco that was just rear ended: http://lmgtfy.com/?q=junkyard+search+engine+
