bballdude1414
I hear a belt lightly chirping only at idle but when i push my clutch in, it goes away so i know it has something to do with the clutch. how should i go about to figure where its coming from and how to fix it??? subikid90
Just because you push the clutch in and it goes away does not mean it has to do with the clutch. When you push the clutch in you reduce the load on the motor whether you are in gear or neutral. I am not saying it is not the clutch, I just do not want to see you chasing your tail on a problem. Have you checked your belts recently(timing, alternator and AC)? -Subikid90 1997 Legacy GT 5spd & EJ251 w/EJ25D heads ~10.5CR 1998 Legacy GT Limited waiting for EJ22T hybrid swap

Bassnectar
a noise from a manual transmission in neutral could be a worn input shaft bearing, but I agree you should check the belts and listen from in front of the vehicle asking someone to press the clutch for you as you try to isolate where the sound is coming from
Kennyfvholla
Just lightly spray some windex at each belt with the car idling... You'll know what's squeaking when it disappears. A belt may be worn past good use, or something is causing the belt to get hung up or overly tensioned.
