ajumper
I am being told that my Body Intergrated Unit has failed in my 2010 Legacy, The car won't even try to start. The car has about 72,000 miles the mechanic that I normally take it to could not determine what the problem was and had me take it back to the dealership. Dealer says BIU is bad needs to be replaced $1100.00. My mechanic says that should be covered as part of the 8 yr/80000 mile emmision warranty. Has anybody else experienced any issues with a Body Intergrated Unit and if so was it covered under warranty if not how much did it cost?
Th3Franz
Probably not powertrain or emissions warranty for that item. You may want to try sourcing one from a junk yard. Did the dealer offer to swap the BIU from another car to prove that is the problem? -Franz The end of a Legacy http://www.youtube.com/th3franz
ajumper
No, Dealer did not offer to swap the BIU. Update The BIU came in and it was installed and did not fix the problem. Still no solution. I want them to check the Engine Control Module but they insist that this could no be the problem.
