king26
Its time to do a head job on my 06 2.5i and they need to be machined. I found some heads off of an ej255 that are already rebuilt and am wondering if they would bolt on and what, if any, wiring changes would be involved. Also would I see any performance gains. Max Capacity
Yes, they will bolt on. But they are dual cam where your heads are single cam. Do you now see the problem ? Your better off to stick with what you have. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. king26
They are complete heads with camshafts if you are talking about my engine being a camshaft short. Other than that I don't know. Hence me asking.
Max Capacity
They will not work on your engine without major MOD's. Stick with your oem heads. I see your new....so I'll be nice. There are other forums that may be better for you that deal with your 2.5i. Most of the talk here is about Legacy's with turbo's. Mainly the 4th and 5th Gen's. Your last car wasn't a Honda Civic was it ? I know guy's do all kinds of crazy things with D16 engines. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. king26
Thanks for your help (I think). If any other members have anything non dickish to add feel free.
700watts
If you were able to get them to work, I don't think you'll realize any power gain. As with out a turbo you'll be effectively lowering your compression ratio.
Max Capacity
Thanks for your help (I think). If any other members have anything non dickish to add feel free. To put it in plain English, this is not a good idea. Stay with the heads that came off your 2.5i it will be much simpler. If I really wanted to be a more diskish. I could have. I hope you didn't take offense to the Honda Civic. I happen to have built one for drag racing. So it wasn't meant in a bad way. 305,600miles 5/2012 ej257 short block, 8/2011 installed VF52 turbo, @20.8psi, 280whp, 300ftlbs. (SOLD). CHECK your oil, these cars use it. frank_ster
you need the heads and the 4 cam gears the intakes are avcs so they are realy expensive. lgt wiring harness for the cam sensors as they are in different places and work differently lgt ecm and anty theft devices lgt timming cover lgt coil on plugs lgt injectors lgt oil lines to the heads and not sure if the ej253 has the bungs lgt fuel rails lgt intake and tgv's and then you need custom air intake . king26
Thanks everyone for the input. This is just my winter car and was hopeing that it would be less expensive to fix since its a friend who has these heads. Looks like I will be taking the 253 heads to the machine shop.
