Help save my postal wagon!

Recommended Posts

There's a wide range of donors you can pull from too. Doesn't have to just be a 97 wagon. Just check that the final drive is the same as your transmission to keep the rear diff of your car.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I think there was only 4.44 or 4.11 as final drives on the 4eat for 2nd gen? I'm mostly an engine guy....so transmissions are just metal boxes of magic to me.

Good luck with your search.

P.S. There's some trick with using codes off of somewhere on the body that will let you know which transmissions will hook up right. Hopefully someone on here will know what I'm rambling on about and be able to explain.

I have a 97 rhd legacy wagon. I really like it. It has a tranny problem and needs a new tranny. Does anyone know where i can get one for cheap in the so cal area? If i cant find one. Ima have to sell it. :(

I have a question for you. I'm interested to know why your trans has had it. Did you used to change the fluid in it ? or is there some other reason for the end of it's life. Just old age maybe.

95 - 99 leagcy L, brightons, and LS ej22 auto trans all have a 4.11 final drive ratio.

93 - 99 imprezas, ej18 and ej22 auto trans all have the 4.11 final drive ratio.

96 - 99 outback forester, GT, & LSi, ej25 auto trans all have the 4.44 final drive ratio.

some 90 - 91 legacy auto trans had the 4.11 too, but is is confusing.

i do not know about impreza ej25 cars.
