EssTeeAai
So my shop helped me install a pair of 2011 STi seats into my 2005 LGT sedan. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v702/ACCORDing2R/stiseat1.jpg The airbag light is on. I understand it is because the seat airbags are not connected. But also, correct me if I'm wrong, when the AIR BAG light in ON the dash, the steering wheel and dash air bags also won't deploy? I'm trying to eliminate the Air Bag light, and get the steering wheel air bag working again. I don't really care about the air bags that are inside the seats. My shop suggested a 3.3 OHM resistor wired into the Air Bag plugs. But that didn't solve the problem. Can anyone please tell me how to disable the light and trick the car into think that my OEM seats are still connected? Thanks!

Dbl_D718
Do the STI seats have airbags? I think I've read that you can just plug the STI airbags in and be good to go. EssTeeAai
Yes they do, but all the plugs are different. EssTeeAai
lockmedic
Knowing what codes were present would help. Airbag lights don't just come on to look purdy. Off the cuff I'd say it's occupant sensor issues. Don't know about Subaru specifically but on many other cars, the passenger seat has a 'butt-o-meter" that detects the presence of and approximate weight of an occupant so it can decide if and how hard to deploy the passenger's airbag. They must be calibrated and married to the module on a lot of other cars. Unfortunately that's something that'll likely require an SSM3. But again, that's purely anecdotal. Pull codes, then we'll see.
KCwagon
Do the STI seats have airbags? I think I've read that you can just plug the STI airbags in and be good to go. The 05-07 STI seats work, but the 08 seats have a different occupant sensor and subsequently a different plug/harness. If you search, there is a thread where someone has already attempted this. I will try to find the thread.
EssTeeAai
It's too late for me to get 05-07 seats. My 2011 seats are already bolted in. I really like them, except for my AirBag light which also disabled my steering wheel air bag. If you can find more info or the thread you mentioned, please link me. Thank you! I realize you have the seats in. I was responding to the member that said they would just plug right in, which they do not. If you do a search for "sti seats" you come up with more than one post. Here is one of them http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/05-lgt-08-10-sti-bucket-seats-installed-175782.html?t=175782&highlight=sti+seats
