mattitude78
I've been trying to figure out why my car audio doesn't sound like it's entirely working. I have the factory HK sytem in my 09 legacy SE. I adjusted the fader to the R settings so I can hear the rear speakers. I put my ear to each one on my rear door and they work but absolutely no bass. I also found out the factory sub on the rear deck is not working. So here are my questions and maybe someone can clarify: 1) Are the rear door speakers supposed to produce bass at all? The front door speakers do. 2) How do I get to the sub wiring in the deck? Do I need to remove the deck? 3) Is it possible the factory amp under the pass. seat is not functioning properly? Thanks Matt
adhonores
Hi, I might be totally off here but would you, by any chance, have something called SRS on your audio panel? If so, press it for about 2 seconds... I figured this out after 2 years driving the car :-|
mattitude78
SRS is the supplemental restraining system...I do not see what that has to do with it. I do not have a specific button for this. Did you mean something else?
gimpydingo
He has the HK so no SRS (virtual sound) for him. On my '13 3.6 only the sub and front speakers produce bass, not sure about the 09 system. Might be the same, sounds like it. Are there any adjustments just for the sub and has the sub ever worked? I installed the OEM sub on my 07 LGT, non HK. I had to pull the desk and the area around the shifter to get the radio out for the sub hook up. mattitude78
I do not see any adjustments for the sub. I just purchased the car used so I have no idea if the wiring may be disconnected somewhere and I do not know if the sub ever worked. I would imagine I have to work with the rear deck as I see no wires from inside the trunk.
gimpydingo
I don't know enough about your HK system, but my sub has one plug to the back of it, which connects to the back of the deck. The sub also has an adjustment "knob" (need a flat head screw driver) that will adjust the gains and cutoff. Maybe someone else can chime in. gimpydingo
I guess no adjustments for the HK sub. You'll have to play with the fader and see if you can get any bass out of it. If not trace the wires back to the radio. I'm sure there is a how to on here.
