09 rrp lgt $23k

GEE-OTTO

Recommended Posts

Went to Rosenthal NIssan to look at a 2009 RRP LGT with 39K miles on the clock, VIN 4S3BL676396222331.

Impression:

Dry rotted tires, speaker wire use to wire up the fog lights, drilled headlight covers possibly for HID mod??, wagon mufflers, new bolts on the turbo, clutch pedal somewhat stiff.

Interior is GREAT!

From what I can gather the previous owner put in HIDs, wired the fogs to come on with DRLs, had an aftermarket exhaust then picked up a used wagon exhaust to replace the stocker before trading it in to this dealer. New bolts on the turbo and the original ones are beat up could mean there was another snail on the car and again returned to stock. Also notice it was running rich (smelled like raw fuel coming out of the exhaust).

Now the cosmetic stuff doesn't bother me the wagon exhaust is annoying to look at protruding 1.5 inches from the cutout. Didnt got for a test ride but cranked it and idled for about 8 mins, which is how i notice the raw fuel smell.

I want a LGT, and my dream LGT is a 09 RRP. Yes 40K miles on a 4.5 year old car is great, its one owner good inside and out BUT for $23K  Not looking to spend new car money so i will keep searching. :(

Wow - price is a little over KBB average retail - for a car that was likely modified and has some issues, I'd definitely pass! You could see how willing they'd be to move on the price, but they'd have to move quite a bit before I'd even think about it!

Exactly my train of thought he body is great the drive train is ( engine ) is a great big "?" Stolhman Subaru is literally next door and I would have them check but i know Rosenthal overpaid on trade and aren't going to move to the $17-$19k range. They will end up sending it to auction it will get bought and end up for sale by a non franchise dealer for less.

I would pass on that car even at 18k. It's a modified car thrown back to stock.

If you actually wanted the car usually you can negotiate the price down to reasonable level. Maybe the dealer has grandeur of it being worth more than book but after it sits on the lot for a few weeks the price will get negotiable. If they were to bring a 18k car to auction it's only going to fetch 14-15k. The dealer auction reports are pretty throrough and they will pick up on the backyard mods (lowers the price.). It's in there best interest to sell the car on the lot unless its something that they don't think they can move within a reasonable time.

Yes Ive found several but I cant get to them to check them out  I would like to do a compression check but I cant compression test every LGT. As long as there is decent warranty I can

1. ~72K miles $15996.00

2. ~84K miles $15500.00

3. ~63k miles $18400.00

At first I want to find a higher mileage 08/09 in the lower teens but now tha I think about it I should probably spend a little extra to get lower miles for wear and tear sake.

What do you guys think? There are two good looking example one is in SC 106K mile for $10995.00 08 LGT I dont mind having to do some maintenance but I dont want to buy a problem child.

Thats the one drawback I have a blank check, can't buy from private party :( Most banks that ive looked wont let you buy from private party. Trust me I would have snatched that Spec.B, cleaned up the bumper, added that center cap and called it a day.

I also have to sell my 2.5i but for $5700 it shouldnt last long

Buy mine:

09 QSM LGT Limited

Just hit 48k miles

Overall, Strong 8/10 condition Inside and Out

Mods are Perrin Rear Sway Bar

FMS cat back

K&N intake

The plus on mine is it's stil CPO

100K Miles and Through March '15 i think is the date, Tranferable, hard to find these cars CPO.

Not really planning on selling but for the right price, why not

what kinda loan? Do you belong to a credit union? If not, try and join one. They all have great rates right now and they should give you a decent loan.

Unless your credit blows.

CapOne 1.9APR fixed APR (used or 0.9 new)for whatever term I chose, can spend $20K but dont want to if I can help it. The only rules are buy from their dealer network which is huge, less than 70K miles, newer than 2006.

Dont really want a WRX or STi dont want a New Legacy althoug they looked better than 10-12 MYs.

For my entertainment i'm going to test drive the one at Rosenthal it has a 2 month full warranty to which I would buy the extended one from Stohlman. If i could talk them down to $18-$18.5 I would buy that one. 39K miles is just tough to beat to be sooo close to home I could have Mach V check it out as well.

If you're a dealer it could be possible!

Get a different loan. That's silly. You should be able to get a loan where as long as the car's value is higher than the loan they shouldn't have a problem with it.

Most definitely, looking into PedFed CU a member on these boards used them had high remarks about their service and terms. I understand their logic about private party sales but the dealer is just as quick if not quicker to shaft you than the common man.

There was a 2007 LGT on here for a steal out in Sterling i wish I could have bought.

PenFed is who i've used for my 2 recent loans--they're great.

Perfect ill look into opening an account there (savings) to become eligible for their loan products.

May be too much info but do they offer a "blank check" type of buying experience or is it their dealer network you go to to iron out that stuff? The reason I ask is b/c Id like to have the negotiating edge the former affords when shopping around.

I envision an experience where I go to a dealer they say we "want $19K" and I say "given XYZ ill pay you $17.5K right now". I feel that when you need financing there is more talking than I care to do. :p

You'll have to talk to them, honestly. I'm sure they offer many options, but the blank check that you want likely comes with stipulations like you have now. I have called, given them a vin number, and been approved over the phone, check shows up in a couple of days, go buy the car.

Funny. My loan for my lgt is through PenFed as well... You can't open an account through them unless you're affiliated with one of the service branches. Buuuut if you make a "donation" to one of their organizations on the website you can become a member. I think I paid like $5.

A lot of the places that used to offer person to person car loans, dried up with the financial crisis of 2009. It hurts the private sellers, as well as makes it more difficult for buyers. I think my credit union offer used cars loans. You should check out local credit unions.

My used car loans with PenFed have been post-2009 and no issues. Nobody has learned anything or changed anything, if they can find a way to hand you money they will.

Well i am going to talk to them today, put my car up for sale and try to contact the dealers and 1 privateer about these LGTs. My wife is on board as I have been buying and hoarding LGT parts for a year in our various closets  "Its a good excuse to free up space" I tell her.
