ashwinearl
2005 Legacy GT Wagon 5MT: I just got a Cobb Accessport and installed the stock Stage 1 Map. 93 octane in VA, haven't test driven yet. I was wondering if the alternative maps offered by etuners like PDX, Bren, etc. are worth the approx $150 compared to the stock map that comes with the Cobb (updated to latest firmware). Naturally, my goal is a stage 2 with catless up pipe and downpipe, but am not sure when that will happen. Should I save the cash and put it towards the Stage 2 and get an e tune then? very best. Brian3676
Honestly, I have gotten 2 e tunes thus far and the cobb stock stage one feels pretty good. I have a pdx tune, it's nice but I experience slight low end knock so don't use it, also am currently trying a e tune from infamous tuning, this far it does feel nice, still working on revision 2, 4 weeks in:spin: Shamar takes a long time, everyone says it's worth it so I am waiting patiently, I did read the thread so was 100% aware it may take a while. I do like my afr's better on the tune by Shamar I think $150 is worth it, the tuner reviews your logs and makes sure your running well. Eventually I want a real tune on the dyno, but am going to wait to install the 18g and downpipe.
McDowell Performance Tunin
Here is a learning view shot of a stock 2006 spec b, with Cobb's OTS map. A lot of flkc in high load/rpm ranges. I've found the OTS maps add too much timing (this is in salt lake, elevation about 4,500ft and 91 octane map). The car also had a k&n drop in panel filter, but nothing else. The other learning view is after I tuned the car to stage 1 (he sold the AP) and went back to the paper oem filter. No changes to the maf scaling. The Cobb OTS LV is on the right. www.facebook.com/mcdowelltuning [sIGPIC][/sIGPIC] Click Here for Stage1, Stage2 and Stage3 Tuning and eTuning Info
iNVAR
No changes to MAF scaling? Interesting... AF Trim C on the Cobb LV is way off....
BoozeRS05
My Cobb OTS stg1 and stg2 logs have looked pretty clean. Response is good from the car. That said, I'll be installing some more parts, and getting a BrenTune or Tuning Alliance etune once I have more money. But at stg1 with updated maps, I think the Cobb is fine. Pull some logs to check it out, and/or run the 91oct map with 93oct. That's what I'm doing (Cobb OTS stg2 91oct with 93oct gas). Yep, no scaling done at all to the MAF.
