Plazma
Hello Internet, I recently was in an accident with my 90 Legacy with MT (Trans Code: TY752VA1AA). As luck would have it I came across another 90 Legacy with an AT (TZ102ZA1AA). I've been doing my research on the whole Conversion process but I have a couple questions. I know the 90's transmissions were all cable the hydraulics weren't intro'd until 92 if I've done my research correctly. I've been over to LegacyCentral and read the entire work log from Dave on his 4EAT > 5MT swap. I've also been to Legacy777's site detailing his trans swap with short throw shifter. In it he uses a short throw linkage (P/N CF1010FA001) with a particular joint that subaru sells. He's using a 92 Turbo trans in that swap. My question is this, can anyone tell me if this short throw shift linkage will work on a cable transmission off an N/A legacy or does it need to be the Hydraulic turbo trans for this mod to work properly? Secondly, am I correct in believing that the 90 4EAT has a 3.9 gear ratio while the 5MT has a 4.11? I have the differential that's not a problem I just need to know if when I pull the trans, I should pull the differential at the same time.
