Moderators BarManBean Posted November 13, 2014 Moderators Share Posted November 13, 2014 Took a look at the process west splitter last night--it meets up with the TMIC on my outback, stock spacers still installed. That must mean that although the OBXT engine sits lower, the piece of the splitter that you reuse with the PW splitter is likely larger than the LGT equivalent, thus pushing the splitter farther down so it meets up with the TMIC. Hopefully that makes sense. If you've never pulled the factory splitter apart or really looked at it, it might not make sense. Moderators BarManBean Posted November 13, 2014 Moderators Share Posted November 13, 2014 Nope. I have a 6mt, but doubt that matters. Same CMC, different slave I think tho. INVNO1
Pretty big update! No pics yet though! I was able to start the car with the new motor yesterday!!!! I was quite surprised at how good the new engine sounded too. I was expecting more noise from the forged pistons, but it just sounded so smooth! Found one small oil leak at the oil cooler/filter area but that was it. Had to get a new battery because the old one was garbage. Hopefully I should be getting some miles on it in the next week or two. Dyno time coming soon!
INVNO1
Worked on buttoning up the car today. Got a lot of it completed. While putting my coilovers back on my driver front half shaft just fell apart. LOL! Not sure what that was about but lucky for me one of the parts stores had one in stock. Still need to do some cleaning up of hoses and wires under the hood but the Crawford AOS is just so messy. http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l232/Rubenn27/OBXT/20150622_150010_zpsvqdsz3bz.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l232/Rubenn27/OBXT/20150622_145955_zpsdr3z58u0.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l232/Rubenn27/OBXT/20150622_145951_zps8fcavaqp.jpg
INVNO1
After buttoning up the front suspension I wanted to put my new wheels on. I sold my 17x8 +45 gunmetal RPF1 wheels to a buddy so I could go with 17x9 +35 RPF1s. Had to keep with my 5mm spacers up front because of the Wilwood calipers but I think it still works and looks great. Except for the fact that the car hasn't had a bath since early Feb when we started the motor project. http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l232/Rubenn27/OBXT/20150622_145848_zps7lk6iyrv.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l232/Rubenn27/OBXT/20150622_145853_zpsk1cscvvv.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l232/Rubenn27/OBXT/20150622_145858_zpsh2yuenrl.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l232/Rubenn27/OBXT/20150622_145901_zps2vq4ltea.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l232/Rubenn27/OBXT/20150622_145907_zpsutche2g4.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l232/Rubenn27/OBXT/20150622_145911_zpsksp3msib.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l232/Rubenn27/OBXT/20150622_145920_zpsyn2ug1bo.jpg http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l232/Rubenn27/OBXT/20150622_145923_zps5wyybkot.jpg

INVNO1
So much sleeperness, I love it. Kind of reminds me of a EJ25 USDM version of SuperGramps. I love watching MCM! I have been watching those guys since that stupid civic they were doing work on like 3-4 years ago. Lol! I couldn't get enough when they started building the first Gramps project! It was kind of funny that their goal was to run 11s because when I started this build that was my goal! Haha!!! Makes it awesome that I have 6 fuel stations within a mile of my house that all have E85 too!
INVNO1
It's been a while since an update. Had a major mishap with the built motor. Don't really want to get into what happened with it, but the only thing from the shortblock that was reusable were the rods. So, new block halves, pistons, crank, and bearings again and we got it reassembled. Finally got it back to my tuner and he has been working on the street tune this last week. Car was put on the dyno today and a couple boost leaks were found. Those are being addressed tomorrow morning and then tuning continues right afterwards. As of right now, with the boost leaks, and not a full power pull the car is currently at 340whp and 320-330wtq. Fuel is currently 93oct but will be switched to e85 in the spring. I will post some updated pics later tonight or tomorrow and also some dyno pics tomorrow as well.
