Spark plug wires

Recommended Posts

I am getting new NGK platinum plugs and am thinking of ordering NGK spark plug cables to go with them. Is this a good choice of spark plug cables?

Also, if I decide to go with the MSD coil mod later on, will these wires fit the MSD coil as well as the stock coil?

Got my plugs and wires today. I ended up paying only only $50 shipped for NGK wires & NGK platinums from Rock Auto. Got here in two days. I like how easy the plug change is on the EJ22 (Especially if you take the 2 bolts out of the washer reservoir and move it out of the way. The old plugs weren't too bad looking (NGK regular plugs) and generic aftermarket wires). Actually a couple of the plugs looked like it's running a tad lean.

the spark plug tubes on SOHC engines are angled upward, a bit,

making them more accessible.

on DOHC engines (ej25D, and H6) they cannot do that so they are absolutely horizontal,

and much more difficult.

Yeah I liked the angled up spark plug tubes. I don't change my wires often, so i assue I'll keep these on the car the duration. Since a couple of plugs that I pulled out had very light colored deposits, i wonder if it's running a bit lean. i might recheck for a vacuum leak (being my idle is pretty well set at 650 RPM).
