lee07
Believe i had a thermostat stuck closed and had to much pressure that it popped the upper hose off and broke a bit of the neck piece for the hose off Car overheated 3 times after, and stayed at normal temp a few other times I drove it. Must be sticking and opens up when it wants to. Now I need I new radiator, hoses and probably thermostat but not sure if I should go oem or aftermarket. vf52 on e85 and just a dd
ibr_adam09
oe is fine. but for not much more, go aftermarket. Get a thermostat
jp233
Which part broke, the spout on the radiator, or are you talking about the metal pipe on top of the motor? I'm assuming you mean the plastic radiator part, OEM is fine but there are other radiators out there (mishimoto, etc). Since you're in MN, I wouldn't worry about high temps too much I've always liked using Gates parts for belts and hoses, water pumps and thermostats Just make sure you install the thermostat with the jiggle pin facing upwards
lee07
The piece that you put over with the hose and where you would put the clamp. Not sure which to get, $270 for an oem and $270 for a mishimoto one. Does the stock fans bolt straight up on the mishimoto one?
K2e2vin
If you can afford it, go for a metal one. Plastic radiators are more prone to leaking later on.
