Kin
Hi guys, I was thinking to trade in my Legacy GT 07 Auto with 55,000 miles. How much should I expect from the dealer? I got a quote from auto trader which is $11k. KBB said $15k - $18k I have 25mm front and rear sway bar in my car. does it affect the trade in value? motorhead87
Stealership...I was going to trade in my last car, kbb private party value 11.8k, trade in 9.8k, dealership offered me 6k. I laughed at them, they raised it to 8k, I laughed again and walked out. Oh and my auto trader amount, 5.1k...what a joke.
lockmedic
mods will not affect trade in value at a dealer. Most are actually detrimental, but I doubt they'd ding you for sway bars. You can expect to get no more from the dealer in trade-in than what they'd have to pay for a similar car at auction. I just ran a query on Manheim.com (dealer login required), that year GT sedan. Average is about $11k. If they offer you less than that, walk. Kin
Thank you guys. I was thinking about $13k. Do you guys think I can sell it private at that price range?
motorhead87
13k would be a good price for the year and mileage IMO
rob-2
I think you can private sale it for 15k.
Squad51
If you aren't in a hurry and can wait I think $13k-$14k is reasonable for a private party if the interior and exterior of the car is in very good to excellent condition. If you have the original sway bars swap those back in and sell the aftermarket ones here, the dealer and likely a private party won't consider that as a boost in value. You might be able to work a better deal if you buy your new vehicle from the same place you traded it in at. Good luck
