2006 Legacy 2.5 GT Wagon tire load spec

I'm trying to figure out what the tire load rating was for the original tires, 215/45R17's. The manual does not list the load rating for this size.

 

If you can provide a link to the source of the info, that would be appreciated.

Z-rated tires do not carry a load index with them... the GT tires were 215/45ZR17

But, if you look at the other optional tire sizes for the similar weight vehicle, you can get an idea on a number.

 

For instance, the 2005 Legacy 2.5i carries a P205/55/16 89H (so 1,279 lbs)

 

The 05-06 Outback had either a 95 or 97 load index (so 1521-1609 lbs)

 

So somewhere in between 89 and 95 would be my guess, probably something like 91 should be great if you are trying to buy tires that are not Z-rated.

After a quick look on Tirerack, most grand touring AS have a load rating of 87 or 91. Most UHPAS are 91 or XL.
