urdrwho
Where is this SOLENOID FOR CANISTER PURGE VALVE FOR 1995-1999 LEGACY 2.2 & 2.5 located? I've seen something that kind of looks like it but instead of the black top hat filter, mine has vac lines coming out of it. I have a 97 Legacy Outback with a 2.5 but I sure can't see the valve. http://www.subarupartsforyou.com/images/products/IMG_1220.JPG
r3v_v3ng3
That looks like the one bolted on the passenger strut
monkeyposeur
It is located under the intake manifold on the passenger side. Kinda tricky to get at. Almost impossible to get at on a turbo leggy. I relocated mine to the top of the intake mani for easier access in case it ever goes to crap again. edit: here is a pic sqc151 posted to show the relocation of the solenoid. It's usual location is right underneath.
pleaidestar
^ I did the same thing, I just lengthenes a couple of vacuum lines and bolted it to the ground on the head.
urdrwho
I recognize that picture except mine is mounted on the fire wall. What fooled me was the black top hat filter that is shown on the picture of the parts store. I have a car with several of those valves that have the top hat. Wonder what the multiple hoses at the top of the valve are all about and not just one hose. Seems that my 97 subbie has taken a keen practice to routing vac hoses with with "T"s here and there.
