96Legacy96
So I just bought a 96 Subaru Legacy I've had it for two weeks and have fallen in love with the car but today while driving I hit a pot hole and about a mile down the road the engine had over heated so I pulled over and saw this steady stream of oil, now I'm no car expert but that looks like the oil pan and it looks like it needs replaced do any of you how how much this is gonna cost me and if the car is worth keeping the engine didn't start knocking or anything yet just rumbling but that's due to its lack of any oil but I could be wrong like I said I'm no expert that's why I came here. http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/08/24/ytetaje7.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/08/24/apu7e8y3.jpghttp://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/08/24/a7emy6ab.jpg Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk - now Free

snederhiser
Hello; A used engine with a warranty should be $450.00. Then add installation, might be cheaper to sell yours as is and buy another runner.
mnstrmech
sheesh, i paid $650 for a used engine for my 93. That also included the shipping freight.
Ivant
If it was me, I would get another oil pan, then fill it with oil. If it runs ok then fine. If it's still stuffed after that. Looks like another engine. For gods sake don't run it without oil in it, that's just asking for trouble. But going off your pictures it looks like the oil pan is it your problem.
