factory sub issues

Hi guys,

 

New to this forum and just wondering if any one has had an issue with the factory sub in an 04 gt wagon stop working. The guy i got the car off had a 12 inch sub installed with an amp (after the factory amp) that one day just gave up. I have tested the amp and its ok and same for the sub. My intentions were to reinstall the factory sub (which is now done) but I have no bass. I could be expacting too much but it really is no better then my 08 falcon work ute! I traced the wires back to the amp and found a relay base with nothing in it so I looped the contacts on that the result was a little bit of bass but not enough to hear from the front. I guessing from the wiring diagram of the amp (the factory one)that its shat some thing but I dont know how it ever worked as from what I can see it needs the relay (or some thing) to complete the circuit from the amp to the sub

 

Any help would be great

I don't have issues with mine. I just installed a used OEM sub for my 07 a few weeks back. There are two "screws" on the sub near where the harness plug, gain and cutoff I believe. Crank the gain all the way, I have my cutoff at about 1/4 to 1/3 turn. I have bass at 6, mid at 4 and treble at 5. There is really only one way to hook this up, unplug the original harness from the back of the stereo, plug in the sub harness, plug the original harness into the sub harness.
