It was an ej25 that got seriously barbecued when the previous owner kept driving it after head gasket failure. I replaced the motor when I found the cylinders were scuffed. I was wondering if anyone knew if and what the difference between the block and crank were compared to the 05 ej255 in my lgt? zanzabar Posted August 11, 2013 Share Posted August 11, 2013 you can run a 255 with the 2.5NA heads from the 254 and i think the 253. just make sure you change the pistons out so you run a reasonable compression. i dont think that you would want to run the NA parts with the turbo heads or turbo system at all. I am dusting off many cobwebs here, but I think the difference between the Phase 1 and Phase 2 2.5L cranks, is the Phase 1 had the thrust bearing in the #3 and the Phase 2 has it in the rear at #5.
