enzotheracer
if you have side to side slop in your shifter while in gear, i figured out what the actual cause of this is. you are pretty much missing bushings that stop that. i have the subaru part numbers so there is no confusion on what part to get 35035KA030 these bushings are located at the tail of the transmission on the horizontal pin. these are the ones that directly effect this side to side slop. they run about 15 bucks per bushing and there is two that you will need. if you want to replace the vertical bushings while in that area the part number is 35035AA030 these are about 5 bucks per bushing. i know that there are a lot of people who have been wanting to get rid of that slop. hopefully this helps out. oh and if you are going to do it yourself you'll need 2-12mm wrenches (ratcheting ones to make it easiest)

brittcrowell
Whats wrong with slop? I love touching my passengers knee when shifting to 5th...well the cute ones anyway...and I might have gotten some points with my boss one day too. Yea, where is the write up? A least some cell phone pics would be nice. Might be a good 1/4 million mile present for my subie. Thanks Britt PS. I though it was an anti theft feature!
