hmmrdwn
Saab is an extreme example showing marketing doesn't create sales. I think soccer moms are going to buy Foresters even without the "love" commercials. Do you think Subaru will offend Soccer Moms, glbt and other target markets using a more macho advertising campaign? Lol Guess the "honeymoon" is over for me and I'm tired of the "Love". Still love my Subaru, just not the corny ads. Of course Subaru has been known for great ads.[/QUOTE] This is sarcasm, correct? I couldn't stand the sumo wrestler ads either.... http://www.blogcdn.com/www.autoblog.com/media/2011/02/sumosubaru630opt.jpg
MJ in PA
Subaru's current ads make me embarrassed to drive a Subaru! It kind of reminds me of how I bought my Saturn SL2 back when the ads still focused at least somewhat on the cars, and then GM increasingly started focusing on the quirky aspect of the division through touchy-feely ads while the actual product went downhill. stanjk3
I'm just glad they don't have "Every day I'm a whiny bitch" in all of their commercials anymore. Friends don't let friends drink cheap beer.
hmmrdwn
I think Subaru has the crappy ads to ease production requirements. The demand is too high, so they saturate the airwaves with terrible commercials to turn off buyers. Subaru is going to keep the Love.
ehsnils
Marketing works regardless of what they actually say in the commercial.
