I do find it odd that both of mine look like senfinger's left light. If it looked like the right which fades properly I could be happy with it. In senfinger's case it turned out to be a bad bulb.
Apparently Xenon Depot changed their bulb base design recently. Something to do a potential for DRL issues in another manufacture's vehicles.

Any reason why my left light would be casting a triangle'sh pattern and the right isn't and fades properly?
wow not to bring back an old thread but both of mine display that triangle'ish pattern. Aside that I found the output pretty pencil like and not very smooth under the cutoff. It made me think that these HID kits just plane suck in our cars.

I pulled the dash apart last night and discovered there is a ground for illumination next to the positive(hot wire) into the hazard or second wire to the right based on andrew_l_s's photo of the connector.
Now I'm just trying to figure out what kind of connector that is. Much like how the official kit works it would be better to make a short extension instead of splicing into or even taking the connector apart.

So I'm doing this sort of mod on my Outback. I was curious if anyone know if the footwell lights dim along with the dash lights depending on the dimmer switch position?
Also is there a ground in the hazard connector?

Well now that I thought about it more most likely I got two bad bulbs from Xenon Depot.
I cant find the triangle effect in any Subie or Toyota install reviews regardless of bulb manufacture. They all seem to have a smooth enough hotspot in front of the vehicle :/
They also sent me a faulty ballast in the kit that needs to be replaced anyways. I sent them an email Friday but haven't yet received a response.
*edit will probably just return everything if I don't hear from them tomorrow.
