By "log the car" i assume you mean plugging a laptop into it and read everything it is doing? I would have to find someone that could do that.
I always use 93 octane
If it is perceiving a knock, is there another way to check that? What would be the repair?

Looking for suggestions. I have an 08 Outback 2.5 XT. It is the turbo, automatic.
For years it has hesitated when taking off or sometimes when suddenly accelerating when in motion. it only does this during some kind of acceleration. Push the pedal down, hesitates for a half second, maybe two, then takes off. Never a loss of power when cruising. No check engine lights or warning lights. The problem occasionally just goes away. I cannot see any correlation between it coming and going with how I use the car (long trips, short trips, easy driving, fast driving, various modes of transmission)
I have:
new plugs and coil packs (Subaru)
new fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel strainer
Replaced the engine
Rebuilt the transmission
Cleaned the MAF sensor
Replaced both Catalytic Converters.
Any advice appreciated. And once it is fixed it is for sale. I just don't need it anymore.

I appreciate the responses. i am finally getting around to getting this car right. i was able to pull some codes after a CEL came on.
P0138: O2 Sensor Circuit High Voltage (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P0140: O2 Sensor Circuit No Activity Detected (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
P0301: Cylinder 1 Misfire Detected
P2097: Post Catalyst Fuel Trim System Too Rich bank1
138 and 140 are for a back O2 sensor. that would be the passenger side back one, right?
