  1. I've had multiple replacements on my '19 Legacy. The aftermarket ones are way more durable and there have been zero issues with eyesight. Get the aftermarket.
  2. He was trying to make a sale. Have aftermarket on my 2019 (after going through 2 OEM ones) and Eyesight works perfectly after being re-calibrated for the new windshield. No issues with it at all. Just need to see if it will hold up without cracking, it's only been about 10 months so far.
  3. I got mine done at Safelite. They will probably do aftermarket for you as well. You could always call them up and ask them. Not a bad idea to wait until spring, both times mine cracked were mid winter.
  4. Not just in the 2020s, happened to me in my 2019 too. Twice. This replacement is a aftermarket not OEM and so far...knock on wood...so good. But it's only been ~10 months.
  5. While this doesn't directly answer your question, you might be able to just restart the head unit and not the whole car to get it back. I use Android Auto on my 2019 and sometimes it freaks out and I need to restart. You can do this while driving, no need to restart the whole car. Push and hold the power/volume button for 15-20 seconds, until you see the Starlink logo come up.
  6. Safelight will. I've got a 2019 and am on my 3rd windshield. First one cracked after having it for just over a month. Got it replaced with OEM and cracked again a year later. This time it was replaced with an aftermarket one. No issues at all with Eyesight. Jury is still out on if this one will be more durable than OEM, but it's at about 7 months so far.
