  1. I thought this was a legacy forum? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  2. My rear brakes have been squealing for ever. After a million trysts to fix it the dealer finally put these rotors on. The part where the pad touches the rotor ( outside) is raised higher than the ( inside ) groove of the rotor. I have never seen rotors like these in my life? I was too pissed to ask them what they were but squealing is finally gone.[emoji106] Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  3. The suspension clunk is still present on my 06. So is the squealing brakes. I have had the dealer change the rotors and pads to three different types. They still squeal a little but it's much better than before. The hesitation u talk about is the turbo lag or no? Mine has a lot of turbo lag BUT I actually like that. It's like being shot out of a 2 liter soda bottle with soda and pop rocks. Lol. The new rotors they put on are really weird. Half the rotor is raised. The part where the pads meet the rotor is higher than the inside part of the rotor? I can honestly say I've never seen a rotor like this. Very strange Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  4. Ok guys, please speak as if u are speaking to a 98 year old farmer. All of these acronyms in these forums make my head spin. What's a VB ???? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  5. Of course car companies will go with the cheaper way to do certain things if it makes sense. Every manufacturer of anything is going to do this. Now if this particular part or design comes out to be a huge mistake like burning up turbos, they will try to remedy the situation asap because this will affect future sales. Subaru changed their design of the filter because this again was the cheapest way to fix the problem. Not changing the exhaust configuration, not by redesigning the turbo not anything. Except to change the filter design. Wala problem solved for the customer using the cheapest way saving everyone involved money. Applauded the new engineer and fire the old one. Happens every day Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  6. Well said. I agree Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  7. Also, why in the world would a Subaru dealer not sell u the filter that's the best fit for your application? No they dont want your motor to explode so you have to have a new motor put in by the Subaru dealer. If anyone believes this you have serious issues with conspiracy theories. 911 was committed by our government so we could go to Iraq to get their oil, UFOs are going to attack......you get the picture. 8. Melayout makes the most valid point. With a turbo you dont want a drop in oil pressure, that's for sure. These are gimmicks perpetrated by the BLM movement. I'm joking sorry. But yeah gimmick sales tactics to sell you their filters Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  9. I would love to compare to spec B car. Hmmm Are they pretty rare? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  10. Cool. I love Koni. Had them on my M3. I guess I'm going to give it a shot cuz I love my Subi in every way but the ride comfort. IMO it handles just fine to me. Alot of people thing it's too soft but I can run through the twisties pretty good. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  11. Lol. You go girl! Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  12. Well you arent kidding. I have never been in a more uncomfortable car in all my life. I mean over small cracks, expansion joints, and really over the smallest of potholes. It feels as if every ball joint tie rod CV joint everything is about to explode in to pieces. Yeah my car has 160k on it. I bought it 150 thinking it may be the tires or tie rods. Replaced the tires with Good Year Comfort Treads Had the mechanic look at it numerous times and said nothing was wrong. Now I had an Audi A6 with 200 on the clock before the timing chain took a shit. That car had the original struts and the ride was like a Caddy completely to my Subi. I get its car with a msrp of about 25k more but come on. I know there is quite a bit of aluminum on the Subi to reduce weight I'm assuming. So that could be it too. Not a solid frame and body. BTW. I have to say I had 90 300e 4matic with ridiculous mileage and that was the BEST riding car I have ever been in. You could hear that thud when u closed the door and it felt like you were in a tank. Now I get it. Apples to Oranges but I'm to the point of wanting to sell it just to keep my kidney's from rupturing. Do I even want to waste the money on struts when I doubt it would help? Anybody ever notice a huge a huge difference with new struts? If so any particular brand? Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  13. Ok thanks folks. Ill check my rim first Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  14. You would think when the tire guy put new tires on he would have found the rim bent? I heard a bad cv joint could cause vibration . I do have a torn boot i need to replace in the front. Oh the vibration is in the steering wheel
  15. Hmmm I never looked at the motor mounts. I will have to find them. The strut mounts are a little rusty but the mechanic said the struts look ok. Also one of the CV boots in the front is torn but i dont have any CV noise. Cluncking clicking no noise when turning. Its a 2.5 Gt turbo by the way.
  16. Had a vibration around 70-75. I put new Good Year Assurance 225's on stock 17"wheels, all new pads and rotors and the vibration is still there. A little better than before but still enough to annoy the $$%^ out of me. Any thoughts? Bent rim? Suspension? The tire guy said the wheels were fine so idk. What else could cause vibration? Motor completely rebuilt at 100k currently have 160k. Any help would be appreciated because I do a lot of high speed freeway driving.
  17. I've read reviews on how this GT is not great at handling. Wallowing in corners etc.. This is by far the stiffest suspension I have ever driven. Sounds like my front end is going to snap off on a small bump. Had it looked at and was fine. I drove my buddies 04 wrx sti and my suspension feels exactly like his? What gives,? Turbo question. Once in awhile when its 85 and humid and I stomp on it, the turbo coughs almost like a engine misfire but its definitely the turbo. Cars motor was rebuilt and turbo replaced all at 100k. Its has 160 on the car now so both only have 60k. Do you think it's just cuz it's too hot and humid. Turbo lag on this car is laughable compared to today's new cars..but I do love my Subi Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  18. Ok thank you! 225's it is. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
  19. Hi guys and gals. For some reason I am unable to send pics? I'm working on it. Promise. Color- like a tomato soup red? Idk the color code or name. That's my next project. I wanted to make sure I can run 225-45-17's on my stock 7" rim? The reason i ask is i see pictures on here with 225s but with a 7.5 inch rim. Is the stock rim size 7.5 or 7? Also you are positive there will be no tire rubbing or hitting the fender on a bump? These 215s are too skinny. Great for snow but that's about it. I have to say the ride is crazy stiff? I had my suspension looked at to make sure nothing was wrong and it was fine. Is the reason BMW can make a suspension stiff and connected to the road and Subi can't strictly a cost issue? I'm running Hankook ventus v2 all seasons on my car which I just purchased. I would say 70% tread left. Man the ride is so choppy I'm going to have to wear a kidney belt. It sounds as if my ball joint is going to bust through the hood. Lol. Well I'm coming from a 2005 Audi A6 3.2 with Continental Extreme Contact 06. Great tire btw. But I know Audi is more comfort oriented. It wasn't the greatest handling car I ever drove but it wasn't a Chrysler K car either. Anyway I digress. So back to my fitment question. No problems? Thnx!!! Love the forum and my turbo!!!
