I have another person interested in the car and is considering coming to look at it in the next few days. Just wanted to give you a heads up.

I am in Warrenton Virginia. It’s about 45 minutes to an hour from DC. All depend on the time of day due to traffic.

It says it in the title. Northern Virginia.

For those of you still checking up on this post I received my genuine Subaru OE cv axle today part number 28421AG02C. I placed them side by side and the OE one is definitely slightly longer than aftermarket. I measure the distance it appears to be approximately 3/16 of a difference. I will share a photo to show the difference. It may seem minor but if the aftermarket is shorter then I have to presume the lock ring can not engage with the grove in the axle end causing it to pop out like in my case.

I guess you missed my post from last Sept. I googled, https://www.google.com/search?q=catalytic+converter+recycling+near+me&rlz=1C1OKWM_enUS906US906&oq=catillytic+converter+recy&aqs=chrome.2.69i57j0i13i457j0i13l6.25504j0j15&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8
I got about $1800 for two of them. You need to send them the two part numbers off the two cats in each pipe. Something like this,

Max Capacity, did you sell yours to a precious metal company? Or to a local metal recycler? I have a stock DP and some other converters laying around.

I saw that you ordered some from rock auto in your other post, but I have stock axle I was trying to get rid of and I’m local to you. I’m also in NOVA.
Thanks. Trying to get something new so I don’t have to wait for a rebuild. I will keep you in mind if what I ordered doesn’t work out.

Thanks for everyone’s help and input. I have read a few articles now on how the aftermarket cv axles have been 1/2 shorter than stock and have popped out for some Legacy owners. I don’t have my old cv axle to send out to be rebuilt and I don’t want to put in the aftermarket axle again. I called my local stealership and had them look up the correct part number by my vin. They wanted $399. Searched around online at different Subaru dealer pricing and was able to find it for just under $300. It’s way more than aftermarket but I’d rather pay that than try another aftermarket cv axle and potentially break my rear differential. I will update how it goes when it the part arrives.

I emailed r-axle... they only sell fronts....any other places?

I was able to find it. I ordered it off of rock auto. It is a A1 cardone 667375. It says it for a 05-09 legacy outback....

So just under a year ago I bought a 2006 Legacy spec B. It was need some help but still in decent shape. On my way home from buying it the turbo went out. Ugh just my luck. So I decided she was going to go into immediate surgery. Long story short I got the turbo replaced and built the engine and got it tuned. Made 300hp at the wheels! After that it was time to tackle the annoying groaning noise I would hear during deceleration. Took the center differential apart as it was a likely cause. Replaced all the bearings. Put it back together and still had a noise but not as bad. So I determined it was the rear wheel bearing. When I went to remove it to my luck the rear axle nut was stuck. After heating it up and hitting it with an impact it broke the threads clean off the cv axle in the right rear. So I removed the whole rear CV axle with the wheel bearing still attached. I search online for a replacement passenger rear CV axle. I could not find one that definitively said it would work for a Spec B. I read a review on the axle I bought which was for a legacy gt and it said be careful the axle is not long enough and it pops out on its own. So I took a chance and it fit. All was well for about 6 month until today... was taking off from a stop sign merging into traffic so I was on the throttle heavy. Went to grab 2nd and when I released the clutch I heard a pop followed by a grinding noise when under acceleration. Limped it back home and jacked it up. Sure enough my passenger rear axle I had replaced a few month back popped out! So I took it apart and the teeth inside the groove for the clip at the tip of the axle were sheared off... the ones on the outside were slightly twisted. It appears to me the axle was indeed too short but was able to hang on enough until today. So I am looking around on the internet for a passenger rear spec b cv axle and can not find anything that says it fits it. When I search the Subaru part website I only see a listing for a legacy 5spd manual non spec b. Is there anyone out there that knows the part number that will fit my 06 5spd manual spec b?

I have an 06 spec B and I can not for the life of me find a right rear axle that says it fits a gt spec b... anyone out there have a part number? I bought an aftermarket rear axle and I remember someone’s review on it said it was too short and will pop out. I took a chance on it and it held up for a few month until it popped out today. Shredded the. Splines on the inside edge and the outer threads are slightly twisted.
