  1. Hello, does anybody have a service manual? it will have a section on infotainment system removal. I cannot find anything on youtube. Please, just describe briefly the steps, I am not asking much. i promise I will post a video showing the install of android auto unit that sells on aliexpress for $180. there are YT vids on older legacy, but nothing with 6th gen. https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005002722748183.html?spm=a2g0s.8937460.0.0.c26a2e0eNtSQUM the basic question is are there any screws to remove the hvac units above and below the main screen?? or is it just prying with plastic?
  2. just charge the battery, takes 2 hours or start the engine with boost.
  3. can anybody point me to a video showing how to pull out the original head unit on a 2017 legacy or any legacy that has the same head unit? or detailed instructions maybe? I want to replace with sth that has android auto, but cannot find anything on youtube. thanks S.
  4. The TSB says that higher numbers follow and that's how you know if you have an old version. I tried to follow the map update instructions in the FOTA and the subaru site refuses to take my VIN. I wrote to subaru and they are less responsive than a dead squirrel. lots of fun.
  5. my version for a NAV system is NU9606. how can I have a later version than the latest available?? also the link asks for a login. is there another way to get the files?
  6. I have a 2017 legacy limited. the instructions posted do not work for me as I do not have wifi and setting/general does not have 'System Information'. I have "software information', but that does not have a dated version, only a model number. is there an update for my car? I have asked the dealer and the answer is no, but I believe them as much as the Chinese.
  7. so if I do not remove the motor, how do I depress the piston? I do not have the FSM. your help is really appreciated.
  8. so can you share the advice? do I remove the motor? the answer before yours forgets to mention anything about the motor. I have been doing brakes without a proper manual until this hiccup.
  9. I am posting here to gain some more visibility. the original thread is here: https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/brake-pad-needs-computer-resetii-278860.html?t=278860 Is it possible to do the rear brakes at home? Thanks everybody.
  10. Did you check the fluid level? I apologize if you simply forgot to mention.
  11. so what is the final verdict, is it possible to change the rear brakes at home or no more? I have an OBD scanner and can read codes and delete codes from the car's computer, but do not know if my scanner can send 'service mode' signals to the car.
  12. just out of subaru dealer. the connection to the battery was loose. I believe it for now as it is a plausible explanation given my symptoms.
  13. sporadic issues of the same nature on 2017 legacy. the fob cannot do anything and the car cannot start. this lasts for about 20min. then it comes back to life. it is not the fob battery as I tried the second key, which was never used. I suspect it is sth inside the car that stops communicating with the fob. going to dealer on Thursday.
