  1. I have a VW Vanagon with an EJ22 in it. It is OBD1 and I thought it is from a 90-94 Legacy. Recently I got the MLI code 13 for a Camshaft angle position sensor. Looking at my Chilton manual covering 1985-1996 years and models of Subaru, it says that for Legacy models I would need to remove the timing belt, sprocket etc. to get to the sensor. However, for the Impreza, it says just remove the bolt holding it on and it comes right off....this is all that is required on my engine. This makes me think that it must be from an Impreza, but apparently they didn’t offer the 2.2 until 1995...which should make it OBD2. Also, the Cam Position Sensor I have is different than all replacements I see offered which further makes me question what I have. Mine has no connector on the sensor...just a wire leading to another connector. Maybe I’m making things more difficult than needed but I want to be sure before I spend 200 bucks on a sensor that may be wrong. Thanks for the help.
