  1. Yeah they changed it for '08-'09, completely different valve body, and the TCU uses CAN bus and such.

I've got my '08 tuned, and that helps a little with the shifting, but the biggest difference really is the valve body. I got mine from batgirl on eBay: https://www.ebay.com/usr/batgirl-111?_trksid=p2047675.m3561.l2559

With the modified valve body, shifts have a nice kick. You can't get the paddle shifter to react any faster though, but the shifts at least happen faster when they finally decide to.

  2. I still have not seen solutions from any trans workshops to quickly shifting to the latest generation of 5EAT. My VBs are
    .)

In case anyone is curious, I have one of B@tman's valve bodies in my '08 5EAT and it is amazing.

Really good value, he shipped it fast.

It was a little funky at first trying to get the learning procedure done, but it shifts smooth now, and very fast.

  3. Yes. I test drove it. The Sport setting did tighten up the ride a lot. But I didn't find Sports+ make a lot of difference. I did a few 0-40 under traffic lights, I didn't find it very quick. But it met my expectations. I just wanted a unique car in good condition. What killed the deal is that the dealer really didn't want to reduce the price by one dollar which made me very suspicious. The next day car was sold. Damn, I really don't know how things work now. I used to be able to bargain a truck load off the asking price.

Bummer dude, those are amazing cars really. I got my '08 with 90K in Seattle for 10k. $8K is a killer deal for that mileage.

I'll just say the 3.0R is under-rated, it's almost as fast as a LGT, just doesn't feel like it cause you don't get that turbo kick. It's quick, I rallycross mine and podium every time. Beats STIs and other turbo cars in the dirt all the time. That 45/55 split is all the time, and with the LSD and bilstein suspension, it's almost unfair ha.

  4. Ah very cool, that's going to be legit. That's what I need, 225/50R18 or 235/45R18. I'm running 225/40R18 right now and there just isn't enough sidewall. And now with the lift, the tires don't fill the wheel-well enough.

Not sure about the spacers, I run 5mm spacers but that's just so I can clear the WRX 4 pot calipers.

  5. Specs? are you lifted?

Sorry it took so long to get back to you Lonely Driver!

It is lifted 1.25", I used the Primitive Racing lift kit (spacers).

Tires are 205/65R15, gravel tires. I only run them for rallycross. Never rubs, even going over jumps. Speaking of which, this car makes an amazing rally car. Just a bit on the heavy side.
