  1. Hi all,

Offering up some free rear struts and springs before I throw them out. Maybe for people parting out their cars and need something to keep their cars rolling?

    Rear struts have 14k miles

    F+R springs 49k

Front springs are attached to front struts. One of the front struts has the bolt hole tab cut through. 49k on them, NE rust.

    Pick up only in Brooklyn.

  2. Welp, another long drive on a hot day and A/C failed. I tried accessing the "A/C control system self-diagnosis" mode by turning the car on holding the A/C button and front defroster buttons. Nothing. A few tries, with a few variations, A/C on when I turn off the car, defroster on when I turn off car, the opposite, etc. nothing. What am I doing wrong? It's got to be something I'm missing as I fry in the car. Side note, I installed a P204-uh and GROM Bluetooth adaptor into my 05. Any thoughts?
  3. When it first happened, my mechanic said over the phone it was probably the battery. He tends to be right. The tests with the battery had me confused about the health of the battery. I checked the connections when I unbolted both sides of the battery to reseat it and wiped them down with a rag. I can go back in with Scotchbrite and or brush to ensure the connection is good.

The battery came with the car when I bought it 2 years ago. It's a Random Nissan battery. I have no issues replacing it, just confused my my multimeter and Autozone meter said it was fine. I guess given it's at least 2 years old, I can start fresh and eliminate that factor.

    Thanks

  4. Hi all, I've searched starting issues, I don't seem to have found the same issue. I presume my searching terminology is wrong. I hope I don't upset the group with this issue. The car is not starting, the dash flickers like it's having a seizure, clicking noises, total disappointment. I can jump start the car with a portable battery.

Background, I recently deleted my TGVs, car was running well. I pressure washed (the outside of) it. The car wouldn't start, the dash would flicker, multiple tries, the car would not starting up. I jumped the car with a portable battery and limped it home. I presumed I got something wet that wasn't supposed to be. Next day I put a multimeter on the battery and it high 12vs, more after I jump started it again. I presume that meant that the battery and alternator was fine. I gave it a few days to stop crying.

The car ran fine consistently a few times a week, for a few weeks. It recently rained pretty hard, (hurricane Elsa hit us,) and the issue happened inconsistently again. Ok in the morning, not ok after parked. I went to Autozone and had them test the battery just incase my multimeter testing was wrong. Battery tested fine, wasn't able to test the starter because of corroded battery connections. Today, my girlfriend had the same issues.

What could be wrong? Battery tests fine, and car can be jumped, so I think there isn't a short somewhere from water. I just read checking grounding connections around engine bay. I'll look up where those are after this post. Another theory is the starter is telling me to retire it. Any thoughts?

  5. Do you lose air flow out of the vent? Sounds like the evap might be freezing which shouldn’t be possible unless the evap temp sensor is bypassed or faulty

Hi, thanks for the response. Yes, I lose airflow, sometimes only on one side, L or R. It feels like a door closes most of the way and whatever air flows is from the heater or hot outdoor temps.

  6. Hi all, my AC stops blowing cold air, loses air pressure after an hour or 2 of driving. Sometimes it'll shoot out a puff of visible moisture before it loses pressure and switches to warm/hot air. Turning the AC off for an hour or more sometimes fixes the issue. I presume there's still enough Freon because it does cool air for at least an hour. My theory was one of the actuators is failing. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
  7. Hi JoeInOregon, thanks for the interest. The TMIC had issues with fitment on the bpv, bov, side according to the mechanic who installed it. According to another forum member, gasket maker solved his fitment issue.

As for hardware, a new gasket is suggested on the intake side, and a M8 x 1.25 for the top hole. The M8 maybe the same bolt size as original.

AVO TMICs are supposed to be direct replacements for stock TMICs.

  8. OBO

Local pick up highly preferred. Prices do not include shipping or Paypal fees. Shipping will take a while as I have limited time to go to the post office.

    OBO if prices are unreasonable.

    TurboXS 50/50 hybrid BOV $80

    AVO TMIC. $old

Previous owner said he had no issues with fitment. I had issues with fitment with the OEM BPV. With elbow grease and the above TurboXS, it worked. After speaking to another owner who sold his, using a one minute gasket maker solves fitment issues. (I wish I knew that before replacing it.) One of the holes for BPV, BOV was tapped for M8 x 1.25.

OEM side feed TGVs off of a 2005 $60

Passenger side was throwing codes, so I deleted them all together. Good candidate for home shop TGV delete.
