For what it’s worth - I’ve used the Meguiar’s headlight restoration kit with great success.

Had an HSK Silent Hi-Power but it was just a bit too loud for 5am starts.

Even had a Vibrant performance resonator welded in but decided to go with nameless mid and y with stock mufflers

My 2013 2.5i has done this every winter I have driven the car. After four years I am confident in saying there is no real issue - an annoyance only.

Even if we knew for certain a new rear window would fix the noise, I do not think it is worth the price of rear window installation and tint if applicable.

For what it’s worth, my ‘13 2.5i also has this issue - clunking at slow speeds over rough or uneven payment.

It’s rather high-pitched. The noise sounds like two tin cans quickly hitting each other repeatedly and then the sound comes to a quick halt.

The car has done this for as long as I can remember (126k now) but I’ve never had any serious issues, mechanical failures, or parts needing urgent replacement. The car has always been serviced at/inspected by Subaru and in fact, I’ve never done any repairs other than regular maintenance.

Could this be a heat shield issue?
