Hi everybody, my name is Roberto, writing from Spain. I have an Outback 2.5i 2005 that was purchased without the navigator system mounted.
After 14 years I decided to install the original Kenwood system that becames with the 3.0 model. It only costs to me 180 dollars in Ebay, so it was very cheap and a nice electronics project to spend some days researching about it and learning.
I ended the installation today, and all works fine.... well "all" is not the correct word "almost all" is better. The GPS signal is not good locked. It only gets 2 satellites, and even with the GPS started on for one hour, it only receives 2 satellites, so it´s not possible to positionate the car in the map.
After that hour I decided to force the position with the manual calibration (it shows to me the last position that was used, Lithuania, 5000 Km of distance ahead, not very accurate the position).
I checked the conection of the antenna, and it seems to work, because when I turn the antenna upside down it gets 0 satellites.
Is it normal that a new geographic location (with a change of 5000 Km) involves so much time to adquire the new position? Is any form to check which satellites is locking? Is any form to force the satellites locked?
