  1. Thanks all. Going to shop around and see if any local sellers have an AP. Looks to be about $900 CAD around here
  2. Is the stock tune for an 08 LGT set for 93 octane? Locally we get both 91 and 93 and no issues with spending a bit more for the 93 but would rather avoid it if its not going to affect the engine at all. I used to run 91 in my stock 03 Civic until I learned better. Also, any reason to run a tune on a completely stock car? Will I see any noticeable difference in power or fuel consumption?
  3. 08 LGT 5EAT with a little over 151,000 km (I'll let you convert to metric if you care). Only had the car for a few months but outside of pain chips on the hood, door dings from parking lots the and two odd pencil sized holes on the leather by door handles its in great condition. No rust as of yet (surprising as it came from Alberta, land of the rising snow). Really enjoying the car so far.
  4. Hey all. Is there a resource that tells the stock 08 LGT stereo specs? Thanks in advance.
  5. Filled it with gas today. Also did my first oil inspection since buying the car. After driving 1000 km I am happy to say that it burned no oil. Very happy about this as I was not light with my right food the past 1000 km.
  6. For an 05 that is a big price. Unless there are a bunch of bolt-ons (which comes with its own potential issues) there is no no reason they should be asking that price considering what other Legacy’s are out there (me being assumptive as most local Craigslists I’ve looked at have a bunch of them). I have an 08 local for $7500 USD. with similar things done. Unless you are desperate, keep looking and something will show up.
  7. Thanks all. It appears to be that grommet on the driver side of the dash wasn't properly put back. Seems to be fixed now but will check next heavy rain
  8. No record of a new windshield. I felt for where there was moisture and it seemed to be coming from the plastic directly above the dead pedal. Will check for wierd smells when I get back to the car.
  9. 08 LGT and first time it's seen rain since I bought it. Went out this morning and felt a few drips on my left leg. Drove to work thinking maybe some just got in when I opened the door but when I checked the mat it was fairly wet. Just wondering if anyone else has seen this problem and might have a solution? I was planning on just running a hose on the front of the car and following where the water comes in.
  10. Thanks for the comments all. It is a 2.5 GT and I did pick it up. I'm excited and terrified about all the fun and repairs I'll have over the next few years.
  11. Found a few posts stating the same thing when I searched more on the forum. Will likely run an adjustable BOV that can fully open/close and everywhere in between to account for this. Thanks for the reply
  12. Simply want some of that "psssh" goodness. Will a BOV require a tune to run correctly or can I simply plug-and-play? Car is stock otherwise.
  13. Just wondering what I should be expecting numbers wise? Obviously dependent on how heavy my right foot is but I'm trying to be good during this fillup to see what actual numbers are. How far do you get before your empty light comes on?
  14. Gracias. Outside is in good condition (I'd give it an 8/10 for a 11 year old vehicle). Some clearcoat is gone and a few dings from rocks/doors but not much else.
  15. Thanks man. Terrified a bit that I’m driving a time bomb of an engine but I’ve already had so many smiles on my face today that I think it’s gonna be worth it.
  16. Thanks all. 2008 GT, bone stock as far as I can tell. Interior is mint outside of a weird gouge on the passenger door by the handle. Carfax reveals nothing out of the ordinary. Looks to be regularly maintained. Less than 24 hours with the car so getting used to some squeaks (something in the headliner/sunroof rattles under acceleration, vibrations on steering wheel under hard throttle). Waiting for a dry day to figure out the limits of daily driving. Any suggestions/thoughts would be appreciated.
  17. $7,800 USD/$10,500 CAD taxes in. 1 year warranty. I'm already excited and terrified. Welcome me to the club
  18. Test drove it today.....and I loved it. They are throwing in a 6 month powertrain warranty too (including diff/turbos) and took off another $600. Help me y’all. I think I’m going to buckle
  19. Read somewhere to do a full lock turn at low speeds in forward and reverse and listen for a clunk/thump as its a sign of diff problems. Any truth to this test? Also, for those have the car would a 3 month power train warranty be of any use or are problems likely not to show until much later if even a half-decent repair job has been done.
  20. Thanks for the reply. I noticed the 6 cylinder error as well but I won't harp on them too much since its not a dedicated Subaru dealership. If they can offer a good warranty for a good price I'm in. Otherwise I'll continue on and take a VW CC for a test drive... :barf
  21. Thank you for the honesty all. I've only had one unreliable car in the family (01 GTI...and yup, turbo issues) and I'm looking to avoid that again. If I can get a good warranty (1 year or more) then I may still bite as I usually keep cars for 2 years or so. I've only had small hot hatches/sedans so this would be my first larger car. Love the idea of having something rare on the road but then the $$$ warnings start blaring in my mind.
  22. Hi all. Here is the link to the vehicle I'm looking at. https://vancouver.craigslist.org/rds/ctd/d/surrey-north-2008-subaru-legacy-gt-ht/6880983593.html If I like it when I drive what should I check for before purchasing?
  23. 10 years and I’ve only had Mitsubishi’s. Just sold my 09 Ralliart and now looking for something else. 2008 Legacy GT just came up for sale. Brand new to the world of Subaru’s so just wondering what I should be ok the lookout for. 93,000 miles/150,000km and they are asking $7300 US/$9900 CAD. Used car lot and it comes with warranty (not sure what it covers but I imagine it’s a 3 month power train warranty). What should I know/do if I like it after a test drive? What should I look for? If I get a Subarudealership to inspect it what should I really get them to test out? Thanks for any info.
