My 2018 3.6 had a small crack in the drivers seat (left bolster) and over the past 2+ years has slowly turned into a pretty large tear. Basically where the the side of your left thigh would touch on the seat. I cannot see how this can possibly be repaired, so has anyone else gone through replacing the lower seat cover before? The dealer has literally harassed me to buy back my car, but i just want the rip fixed at this point.

It makes no sense why Subaru embraced the CVT. A good 7-9 speed auto is both faster and equally fuel efficient.

In the service section in the star link options you can add maintenance periods that will pop up when you hit a certain date or mileage. I’ve been using it for oil changes and it’s really convenient!

My radio literally failed and was replaced under warranty

I have the 2018 version which is literally the same vehicle. It’s not a rocket ship but it’s adequate with acceleration. After fixing my nightmare radio issues I now really love my car. Yes I wish I had the 2020 but I got such a great deal it was worth it. The eyesight system is pretty good and the safety features are good, especially the blind spot system. I would suggest getting a set of winter tires as the stock all seasons are not too good compared to most other available types.

I’m curious about the “vehicle dynamics control”. Is this like the one you see in the forester?

It’s good if you are buying CPO. The values drop dramatically. I bought my 2018 for roughly 10k less than new, 11k miles. The car was only 9 months old. Curious how year-old 2020 models will hold up.

I see that it has a wireless phone charging mat, which wonder if OTA Apple Car Play is in the works

You’re right with the base model. It has a better engine, but unless I’m blind does NOT offer AWD unless you upgrade to R Design. Plus many of the safety options that are standard with the XT Touring are a multi-thousand dollar upgrade on the S60

I think it may be endemic to a hardware fault in the head unit. My old one did this along with some whacky audio and mixer issues. Only thing that fixed it was a new head unit. 3 months in and it’s been good.

I noticed that in Canada, the XT is rebranded as GT!

I swear by the Conti DWS 06’s. There is no substitute for winter tires, but if you don’t have the room for two sets, these are fantastic year round. I’ve had them on two different cars and my wife’s.

I regularly drive 70-80 Mph and have never experienced this.

I don’t regret getting the ‘18 Legacy, because I didn’t have a choice but the new options are really nice on the ‘20. Heated steering wheel, cooled seats and power folding mirrors!

I can use my own example. I had a previous Saab Turbo X before my current car and the Haldex XWD system is supposed to be “lifetime” according to Saab. Haldex’s own literature says service is needed every 20-30k.

Exactly. Plus, many people lease their vehicles which is usually a 3-year. "reliable" is meaningless in that short period. 3 years is usually within the warranty window, too for many car companies. I would say the ratings would be more fair if you put it into a 5 year window.

It was for 2010-2014 models and only with the manual transmission. When I was getting the head unit replaced a few days ago, another person had this issue fixed and I overheard the tech explaining it. Didn’t catch the price.

Thanks, I really love this car and glad it's fixed. I went from a Saab Turbo X to this, so i had to make some sacrifices, but it was worth it in the end.

Final update for all: new radio fixed all my sound and volume issues. Come to find out that equalizer was broken too, according to the tech so just as well I had it replaced.

Yes, the tech did it right in front of me, which did not solve it. I’m due for June 11th for the installation of the new radio. I really hope it helps. One of the reasons I picked this vehicle was the Bluetooth commands and the integrated nav.
