  1. I use this procedure when I don’t use my auto start feature: 1. Get in your car 2. Lock all doors with the button on the door panel. 3. Start the car 4. Manually unlock the driver door, open it, manually lock the drivers door 5. Use the removable key inside the fob to unlock the door when you’re ready to get in. I’ve found it takes less time to do that than it takes me to wait for my car to shut off and allow me to restart it when I open the door with autostart running! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  2. Thanks! I’m really happy with the result and I’m so glad I got the white, although I like a dark blue as well and would consider that as the color for my next car. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  3. Good choice! I only removed the trim around the hazard button, glove compartment panel, the glove compartment itself and some minor trim pieces that hold everything together (because of course every piece has another overlapping it). I think it took me about 30 minutes from start to finish with no instructions so you should have no problem, just be gentle so you don’t break any tabs. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  4. I added the oem footwell kit to my 2015 legacy 2.5 limited with no issue. I was initially looking at aftermarket for the color customizability, but a lot of the companies I checked out couldn’t confirm fitment in my vehicle, or would involve tapping into fuses or wiring. The oem kit was a straightforward install and taps into the power for your hazard button with a plug, rather than the options listed above. A bit of a pain fishing the wire through the dash, but doable if you have a friend at the other end. I don’t hate only having blue, but sometimes wish I had more colors. Just my two cents! Good luck. 5. At home ceramic coating on my ‘15 legacy - very happy with how it came out! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  6. I swapped out the stock tires for Continental Extreme Contact DWS06 and have ran them in all seasons (Utica Winters) for anyone who is familiar with Central New York. Never had a problem with grip in all scenarios and ride is comfortable and quiet. Can’t go wrong! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. I replaced the stock Michelin tires with the Continental ExtremeContact DWS 06 all seasons. I have absolutely no complaints about them so far: the ride is smooth and quiet and it performs well in all weather (rain and snow especially, in upstate NY). Comes in at around $108/tire and is a steal if you ask me. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. I have the same issue, but in my 2015 legacy. Rattling sound is hard to pinpoint, but seems to come from the drivers pedal area /dash. I notice it most under light/medium acceleration. I’ve yet to take mine to the dealership because I’m sure they will tell me nothing is wrong and charge me for “diagnostics”. If yours reaches a conclusion, I’d love to hear the outcome. 9. What brand are you running? Also, are you experiencing flickering of the daytime running lights, or are you referring to the low beams? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  10. Yes, you can get full replacement emblems and you would need to use a heat source to loosen the glue on the existing ones OR you can purchase vinyl overlays (I recommend Orisni Vinyl’s but there are probably tons of others) which hold up well unless you pressure wash your vehicle, you will need to be gentle with car washes over them. 11. Remove the gray plug on the drivers side that provides power to the headlight. Below it, (likely zip tied to a cross brace) will be a small gray/black connector that will be hard to get to. If you look with a flashlight, you’ll see that the design is easily unplugged by depressing on the plug with a flat blade screwdriver and wiggling/pulling it out. Be careful not to apply too much force at once or you may break part of the plastic (like I did lol). Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  12. You are correct, OE pads are ceramic, at least on the 2015 legacy. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  13. Beautiful setup- what are the specs on the Wrx rims? Been thinking about purchasing a set as my winter wheels but can’t seem to find them in 18 x 7.5 5x114.3! Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  14. Good Morning, The pin is made too long and is a design flaw- I had this issue resolved at the dealership for $100, however I think it could be done for free by cutting the pin shorter yourself. I’d be curious to see how it turns out if you choose to DIY! Best of luck, Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. Good Morning, I recently had the factory remote start system installed my 2015 Legacy and, assuming all things are equal, have not had this issue. My vehicle will not allow me to remote start without the doors being locked before hand. When approaching, I tend to grasp the door handle and enter the car that way without touching the fob. The fact that the car turns off is a slight annoyance, but a small price to pay for it being warm (or cold) depending on where you live! I would be curious to see the results of this small test: when approaching the car, press and hold the button on your remote starter for a few seconds and turn the car off, then open the door. I would be willing to bet that the alarm wouldn’t go off. Since the car shuts off anyway when the door is opened, you wouldn’t be adding much “down time” between shutting off and turning on by using this method. I would imagine this is not supposed to happen (as it seems silly especially if you have the fob) but it may not be worthwhile inconveniencing yourself to bring in for Subaru to diagnose it if the above suggestion works. 16. I’m still under warranty and my quoted price was $100 even. I have the deductible program which capped the price at $100 (I believe the update itself was covered but the labor was not). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. For those with a 2015 legacy (although I’m sure it’s similar for other models) beware of the NAV update. My dealer was preparing to install and told me that the update time was ~7 hours. Seemed ridiculous at the time so I declined the service, but after calling around to other dealerships, I found that 7 hours was the “norm.” Unless you have all day, or another way to work, consider this before getting the update!
