  1. hi @langm1, Finally an update! The issue ended up being a bad ball joint!
  2. hey @langm1 unfortunately I too wasn't able to find any play or anything loose so I gave up and brought it in and they couldn't hear the clunking noise and told me to bring it back once it's worse.... Sorry I can't help you out, but I'm hoping to get an update to all of you once I know.
  3. Good god, so sorry I missed all that critical information. its a 2015 4 cylinder limited with about 70k on it. If its the steering rack or ball joints or endlinks is there a way to tell that's the case by visual inspection?
  4. So over the last few months it seems like an intermittent clunking noise from my front passenger side. It usually only does it over bigger bumps and I would say it only happens about 80% of the time during that scenario as well. Otherwise it doesn't seem like the car is driving any differently than normal and no obvious non consistent wear on tires. I've searched the forums and found a variety of responses of folks with what appears to be a similar issue. I'm planning on taking a peek for anything obvious this weekend when I'm working on the car replacing the brake pads but was hoping I could get a few ideas on what to look for/areas to check and also figured that I should just make sure anything isn't simply just loose but I also don't want to overtighten anything but I have no records of how tight things should be.
  5. so about 2 months ago all of a sudden phone calls over bluetooth via the factory radio are garbled and/or very distorted. Folks that I'm conversing with say I sound fine but it's basically gotten to the point that I can't use my phone through the car stereo anymore which means I can't legally make phone calls while driving anymore. For what it's worth when I listen to audio through my phone via bluetooth that sounds just fine. Unfortunately I don't have another phone to try to see if it's just my phone and feel a bit weird asking my neighbors to pair their phone with my car lol. I have a 2015 and a Google Pixel 6 Anyone else had this issue and a fix? TIA
  6. Hello all, I need to replace my front brake pads, anyone have any recommendations on some good but not super expensive pads? TIA
  7. Great, thanks everyone, I'll make sure those 3 tabs are locked.
  8. I believe that's the piece, here are some photos. In the picture where you can see my hand, if I press there it moves about an inch both ways, that's what made me think screws or fasteners missing.
  9. Wait so there's nothing lower, maybe like 10 inches down from the steering wheel on that plastic cover piece because right now if I press on the lowest end of that it has about a inch of movement.
  10. Hello All, Recently while cleaning my car I noticed that the plastic bezel/piece that's below the steering wheel doesn't seem to be secured more than being clipped into the piece above it. I recently had a remote start added to my car so I'm wondering if Best Buy forgot to add a couple of the fasteners back so I swung by their automotive installation department about a month ago but they had already closed things up for COVID. Any chance someone could tell me what fasteners I'm missing, I think there's two missing? If there's anyway to tell me the size so I could get these replaced I would be so grateful. TIA
  11. Yep indeed the new seat frame has resolved the issue for me, it's been at least noise free for a month now.
  12. It only took 3 tries for the dealer to "hear" the creak but they agreed to replace my driver's seat frame and the noise is gone... at least for now!
