Wet they are all in the low 160’s. This points to ringland failure
These numbers are quite low. Measured after idling at 185 degrees.
My question: This is the stock motor with 162,000 miles. Runs amazing tuned on 19psi and 93. Uses about a quart every 1000 miles and has blowby but not smokey blow by. Just a decent out of air coming out of the fill tube. Is this overly concerning?
Car has been burning oil at this rate since I bought it 22,000 miles ago. Should I be looking at new shortblocks?

I’m speed density tuned on vf40. I have all the supporting mods like EBCS ect. Yesterday on the highway I did a 4th gear pull and was slipping my Exedy stage 2 clutch. I’m street tuned so I don’t know how much torque I’m making. What’s usually the power ceiling on a stock turbo. Curious since my clutch is rated for 350+ wheel torque

Ask for synthetic oil at 2.25/qt? They are giving away blend cheaper than I can buy a quality conventional oil!!
I guess it’s a moot point. I wouldn’t run the oil after machining the heads for more than 1000 miles.

Price is about what I payed. That is a great labor rate. Mine was 95$/hr. Like others mentioned make sure the heads are done by a machine shop. It’s very important or you won’t get another 100k out of those headgaskets. Also, synthetic blend? I’d ask for proper synthetic for that price.

That’s what I’m thinking. It runs great still so I’m not super worried
