Wiiums

Hello, I got a used OEM hitch for my 05 LGT wagon. It did not come with the links that are mentioned in the instructions, but I also do not see a bracket that they could attach to on the car. Are the links necessary? Should there be a bracket on the car where they would attach? Thanks!
