  1. I actually had a set of the redline tuning struts lying around too. I ended up installing the redline tuning struts which are a little thinner and ~3 inches longer and that's the perfect combo. The hood sticks almost straight up like in service mode but the brackets keep the struts low and out of the way. This is the winning combo - buy the Ukrainian kit but buy some generic struts that are 2-3 inches longer to get a better hood angle. Both standard thick struts and the really thin redline ones fit no problem, so it's just a matter of strut rate and length. When opening and closing the original struts I saw there was an extra 4-5 inches of stroke unused and that's when I decided to try the redline ones since I knew from other posts they had a good angle. Also, the OEM aluminum hood is quite light, so I don't see an issue with the mounting/lifting angles. The struts don't seem to slam the hood excessively in the way down, and on the way up they actually hit an equilibrium point where you can set the hood where you want it without hitting the end of the stroke length. That being said either the redline tuning or 2sp struts have a pretty high strut rate and are hard to compress by hand with body weight. If you had an aftermarket steel hood I'm not sure this configuration would work well still.
  2. I actually immediately removed it, as my huge triple row radiator was incompatible with the stock hood prop stay and I didn't like the prop just resting on the coolant hose. Looks cleaner too
  3. Just finished my install. They're a little powerful, and they do decrease the hood opening angle a bit, so watch out for that. Overall I'm happy with them though. Pics attached below
  4. New hood struts are available from a Ukrainian vendor called 2SP. These don't require rivets like the Redline Tuning kit, they utilize a replacement fender bolt/ball and brackets that bolt onto the hood hinges so "bolt on". The USDM hood hinges may require cutting, mine did. Not very hard, did it in about an hour and covered up with touch up paint. I received them and have been impressed with the quality so far but will do final installation today and post some pics. Link below for interested: https://www.ebay.com/itm/165481171697
  5. responding to PMs. most of it is still here, throwing stuff away slowly...
  6. $350 + shipping Did not personally own this turbo so I can't attest to it's condition, but it appears to be used maybe once as the hot end hasn't even rusted. And there's no carbon on the inside of the hot end either. It's a journal bearing so plug and play with existing oil feed, but there is some side to side play (doesn't touch the walls, although there is some marks from debris perhaps). Zero axial (in and out) play. Impeller turns freely, no sounds or anything unusual. Like I said I suspect this is "new" or used once but buy at your own risk since it does seem to be fairly old. I'd feel safe running it in my own car after cleaning it up and cycling some oil/coolant though, for what that's worth. Can provide videos or extra photos at request.
  7. A transcooler is about $40-$60 for a decent one, and will be able to cool much better than a heat exchanger style built into the radiator. For a transmission that already runs hot (from what I've heard) I wouldn't trust any kind of radiator with a transcooler built in for track / extreme use purposes. It's very easy to add a transcooler so I'd say not worth it. Similarly a bigger radiator isn't needed unless you're doing hillclimbs/track. I got away with a stock radiator for a long time on stage two + turbo and only had issues up in the mountains boosting uphill and in california 120F weather. And even then it still didn't get in the red zone it just started climbing.
  8. Just finished building my motor and need to get rid of the old parts. They were all working when removed, just had a head gasket leak. Selling as is though for very cheap because I can't be bothered to check everything with a fine toothed comb to make sure it's perfect after the machine shop. If you want more pictures let me know. I'm guessing on prices so best offer works. Everything came out of a 2005 Subaru Legacy GT Auto with 130k miles. If it doesn't say [sOLD] it's still for sale. Prefer local pickup but for a decent fee I can pack and ship. Mainly looking to get rid of it and get it to good homes with minimal effort rather than try to sell them for best price. First come first serve, local pickups get preference. The more you take the cheaper I'll make it. For sale: -Crankshaft surfaces very clean - $75 -Side feed fuel rails and injectors - $50 -All 4 cams surfaces very clean (one has vicegrip marks on the snout, but never leaked. Can be sanded + filled if you really feel like it) - $25 -Oil Pump - $20 -Rods - Free -Bearings - Free -Buckets + Springs and Retainers, + valves - Free -Pistons - Free -Oil pan gasket, one valve cover gasket, spark plug tube seals - Free -TGV motors and sensors - Free -Two OEM fuel pumps, with generic pickup strainer - Free -Brand new gates tckwp328 timing kit (unopened) - $100 -Water pump gasket, rear main seal gasket, various o rings, crush washer, oil cooler gasket, front main seal? - Free [TRASHED] -Exhaust manifold with heat shields - Free [sOLD to AWDFTW] Ebay uppipe with both turbo and flange gaskets, and header gaskets (probably need to dent to fit) - Free [sOLD to AWDFTW] Oil pickup not cracked - Free
  9. If the clock for the nav bezel is the same as the cubby one I can make a fill plate if I have time. I'm pretty busy with work and building my motor, so let me know if they're the same. Otherwise I can sell a fill plate but I can't guarantee it'll fit. Also in case anyone is wondering the double din kit will not be for sale - it required a ton of modification and was very difficult to reliably print. After about 10 attempts I got one to work decent, my printer is just too small and abs warps at that size even with my diy enclosure.
  10. Sorry for the delay. Local pickup is in Tacoma. Currently pending sale to Mechazilla. If someone wants to pick it up locally pm me asap, plan to ship in two days.
  11. SOLD to mechazilla Got some brand new DEPO headlights I bought a while back. Decided to go with a different style and need to get rid of these. $180 for both, prefer local pickup. You pay shipping + PayPal fees if shipped.
  12. I was using a full size double din. It required cutting out some plastic dash supports to make the rear of it fit, as the opening between the plastic in the back is just a little too tight. It also required modifying the vent tubes, the fascia, and 3d printing vent tab adapters a faceplate and some radio brackets. This was all really hard to do and get right, which is why I decided to not sell the kit (not to mention you need a clock relocation). Your best bet is to go with the jdm kit, trust me. I like having my one of a kind kit but it's not worth all the labor. UNLESS you have factory nav (no cubby/vent modification) and are installing a single din / slim 2 din or Chinese unit already meant to fit into this fascia. It would've been nice if they made two kits but...
  13. Update: sold to joeinoregon I've got a 15k mile kinugawa 16g with a 9 blade inconel exhaust wheel, billet compressor, and 8cm exhaust housing. No shaft play at all, no problems with it, can send video upon request. This thing rips, personally I prefer it to the BNR and I've had both, seems to have a lot more breath up top. $450 obo, comes with everything pictured. Upgrading to a 20g.
  14. It depends on which oem fascia you have. If you have the cubby style fascia you have to cut your existing tubes and trim off the part of the flaps for the vent, or if you have navigation style fascia the tubes shouldn't need any modification. See my post on the previous page for a picture explaining why. For anyone wondering I abandoned selling these kits because they require a bit too much modification for my liking, are way too difficult to print on my small printer, and I have a job now so I don't really need the money. Again I'd be willing to provide files for whoever, and will continue to sell the clock relocation bracket.
