You can also thread an M8 bolt I believe in those 2 holes to remove the rotor. Whatever works though!

Yeah, but I couldn't find one in my bucket of bolts. The new brakes though are amazing!

I'm doing brakes this weekend. I grabbed some Centric rotors and hawk hps for front.

Repair was "Oil pump chain cover leaking" So they resealed that. No idea if this is anywhere near others issues
-
Luckily it's still under powertrain warranty.
-
Well Glad you found it early.. Once its fixed keep an eye on it when you change your oil..

Update...The little leak was "fixed" and then turned into a bigger leak when they were trying to fill it up. I asked what was leaking, I think he wanted to say input shaft seal, but couldn't find the right words. Anyway, it's still broke, but I have a 2020 forester now. So all good.

2016 3.6 here - 48k miles. Leaking pump housing...They think. Anyway, it's at subaru getting fixed. I have an Outlander sport for a loaner from the car rental place next door. It's a big piece of shit. Would rather have a fozzy.
-
on the 3.6 what's the size of the front a rear sway? 20 and 16?
-
I'm good. So you're selling it?
-
We never got a video...
-
Anyone have the files for a 2016?
-
Cool beans! Guess that road force balance last month didnt help.
Just about a year into owning the 2010 after last owner, right?
The CPO thread got long fast too, glad you pulled the trigger on it.
Hope you can also inject some tact and common sense into the 6th gen community
(if we can even call them that). Right now they have a large deficit of both.
thanks. the dealer took care of me and got the remote start removed. the road force didn't help. so aside from the shimmy, the rust on the inside of the trunk and the timing chain cover oil leak. it was a solid car, just not for me.
-
Id like the files to update too. Is the "How to" on on the first page still the correct way to do it?
-
Got rid of the 2010 today and picked up a certified 2016 3.6 limited. No more shimmy! hah
-
I'd love to see that.
-
getting roadforce balance now. yeehaw

Who has the oldest 5th gen? I have a Date of 1/10
-
^ I'm not touching that with a 10ft pole.
In other news, It's supposed to snow here. And I don't want it too.
-
Did you ever fork out for roadforce balance or confirm it's not the wheels or tires? If you got a new set of wheels/tires, I bet she'll ride like a dream.
Dealer did a regular balance on all 4 tires. He gave me some excuse as to why I shouldn't get a roadforce. I can't remember what he said. I guess I could put the rears on the front and see what happens. But the tires are fairly new.
-
I do believe that there was a recall or TSB regarding the shimmy, especially considering yours is a 2010. I don't think that should affect your ability to have the dealership take care of it just because it's a bit older now. The recall/TSB should still be valid.
Well they might do it, but not for free. It won't be cheap. How much $ am I going to put into this stupid car?
-
For the shimmy, use as it a good excuse to upgrade to some Koni dampers and your choice of springs.
Do new struts (inserts) really fix the issue? I have not read read that yet. I'd rather stay stock height.
-
Seriously considering selling my legacy. The shimmy on top of the leaking timing chain cover, just bums me out. There is no way any dealer would fix my shimmy at no charge considering its 8 years old. Maybe a trade up to a used 2016 Legacy.

My Preg. Wife had a tire blowout late last night. On the same dam wheel that was leaking from Day 1 since I bought it. Taking wife to work in Tyson, VA then to Frederick, MD. I have access to my friend shop and my friend is placing an order for a tire with Tire World. Should get it before noon today.
Bummer. And the worst part, if you want to do it right you'll need 4 new tires.

Actually the 2.5 is smaller. according to centric.
I think it was put on from the factory. I might call SOA and see what they think.
