  1. I am wondering if it’s even necessary if it’s not a tracked car? Sort of like an AOS (I have a Crawford). Is it overkill for a daily driver? I am installing a Rallitek skid plate as well and would prefer, if it’s needed, to get this shield installed prior to the skid plate going on.
  2. I have an 07 LGT. I installed Perrin ELH and as we all know, one mod can necessitate another mod. I learned that there are several areas that need to be shielded. The first one is the AVCS Cam Sensor on the passenger side. I see a product from Verus that should work. If you know of others please let me know. 3. Thanks guys. I have the rebuild kit already with the bearing. I figure if it doesn’t work out I can always buy a new pump. I will get the suction hose replaced as well.
  4. Good morning LGT Crew, I have a slow leak in the power steering pump and I plan on doing a replacement. It's not the little o-ring on the top of the pump anymore. Its leaking behind the pulley bearing. What other lines, or tanks should I replace during the swap out of the pump?
  5. Its seriously easy to do, just don't set the temp so high that you have a problem. I swapped the cutoff on my JDM lams from RHD to LHD. YOu could always buy some JDM lights and install them as well. No flipping required.
  6. Reviving my thread with some new questions. I decided to swap out the head unit for a working model. Guess what, it sounds the same. I looked at the wiring and it is all connected. It’s the front tweeters that are offline in both doors. This is strange since the 6.5” door speakers are working and the tweeters are not. Does anyone have a good test for the tweeters or advice going forward? At least I am only out $60 at this point!
  7. I think I’m going to dive into the dash and have a look at connections before I do something stupid. Thanks Mike, message received.
  8. After looking on eBay I see they are only $45. So maybe swapping head unit if wiring is good?
  9. I am sure this is part of it as well. Swapping for a different head unit of the same age would possibly solve it. Not the cheap option but probably not too pricey.
  10. Car is 2007 LGT wagon. Obviously to have a good soundstage in your car, the front speakers need to be louder than the rear. They used to be that way, until the last six months when the front speakers would drop in volume and return to normal sound again. I do have a Parrot Bluetooth set up on my 07 Legacy GT. It doesn’t matter if the sound is being played through the Parrot Bluetooth or the head unit CD or radio, the speakers in the front still run at reduced volume. That’s where I am today, much quieter speakers in the front. All speakers were replaced with a high-end JBL 3 years ago but I didn’t do anything else to the system. What do you guys think could be the problem? I’m hoping to get some sort of answer before I dig into the dash and check every connection in the system.
  11. I just did an amazing loop in Central Oregon. Basically the whole area east of Prineville Oregon is Canyon lands. There are many small towns linked together by tight canyon roads. Sometimes there isn't even striping on the roads. On the weekends most ranchers are not hauling hay and since we are high desert the bugs have not shown up yet. Here is an image of the loop.
  12. Maybe sourcing a TCU would work. Yes, the TransGo shift kit is going to happen but from what I have read it only increases line pressure which does make the shifts a bit more solid. The saddest thing about the 5eat is that the shift points are set for fuel economy not performance even when in Sport or Sport# mode. Kinda lame. I have figured out the timing for shifts with using manual mode by shifting just prior to when I want the next gear. But that’s not a fix for it shifting on its own in the middle of the power band automatically when in manual mode. I think I am talking myself into the manual trans more and more.
  13. Hey everyone, While I was cruising around on the STi website, I discovered that the 2007 Legacy tuned by STi had a special tune for the 5eat TCU. Has anyone else seen this? I have learned to live with the 5eat for now, but if there is a TCU file out there that changes the shift points for performance that would be great. I’m guessing it was a JDM and AUS market only automatic version? Here is a link to the page: https://www.sti.jp/en/completecar/heritage/cardetail/2007/legacy/
  14. I’ve been very happy with my Nokian Z-Line 3 season tires. Hard to beat the price. Not full summer tires but very good A/S tires and great in the wet. $115 delivered so hard to beat. https://www.walmart.com/ip/Nokian-zLine-A-S-225-45R17-94W-XL-AS-High-Performance-Tire/938181860 or https://www.nokiantires.com/all-season-tires/nokian-tyres-zline-a-s/
  15. Thanks everyone. Yeah, having a coolant line less than an inch from a hot header is not best practice is it. Good thing so have some leftover DEI film and some sleeves for the O2 sensor etc. I’ll order that heat shield and get it installed.
  16. Hi Mike, What’s in the pipe? I haven’t crawled under the car yet to see where it goes. Thanks!
  17. This line looks a bit too close to the headers. Should I heat shield it? Should I heat shield anyplace else after header install? I used a DEI clamp on shield for the Downpipe where it gets closer to the CV boot already. Like this one: https://www.motosport.com/dei-titanium-series-flexible-heat-shield
  18. Ha! Yeah it went off the rails a bit. I’m not a freak about monitoring gauges. Are they dash bling, yes. In the end it’s not a race car, I like the look of them and my car is super clean. So for me it was a bit dress up with some good quality functioning gauges that showed me the correct values to keep an eye on.
  19. Great looking steering wheel! A great steering wheel is like a good pair of shoes. You are always happy putting them on. If I hadn’t just installed ELH and Pro tuned I would buy this.
  20. I’m about to do a deep dive on my PS pump as well. It’s a bit more obvious in my case. See pics.
