  1. Echoing the above, which is that you need to decide how much you like the car, along with what putting $5-7k into it will get you for reliability versus other options, such as taking on a car loan or buying a used car with that same money. How solid is the car other than the motor situation? I'm just digging out of a similar hole myself, where I picked up an '08 Legacy GT, only to need a new short block after a few months of owning it. Since the car was otherwise in great condition, I decided to spend the money. All said and done, your estimate of $8k was spot on for me, although that included a built short block with forged pistons, IAG air oil separator, rebuilt heads, VF52, catted downpipe, tune, incidentals, and shop labor. Either way, good luck with the decision!
  2. Will do! Tires are coming in today and I have new wheels on order (Used this as an excuse to buy a new set).
  3. Thanks for the review and the link! Discovered that my passenger front tire has a moderate leak, so I ordered a set today. Price went up a little ($238.08 shipped), but that's nothing for a tire from a good, known company. Always swore by Nokian snow tires, so I'm sure these will be excellent All Seasons.
  4. It's been mentioned a few times already in this thread, but front/rear brake bias really needs to be considered when modifying your braking system. Here's a good quick read on the subject based on BBK options for the BRZ: https://sickmint79.kinja.com/ats-and-other-bbk-swaps-vs-the-86-frs-brz-1786142903 While it may not look as cool, a good set of matching pads front/rear that are appropriate for how you're using the car (Street/"spirited driving", Autocross, etc), along with fresh fluid and good lines will go a long way for most people. Obviously you have different needs if you are doing serious track time, but at that level you're probably not looking at this braking setup anyway.
