Traded it in for a brand new 2019 AWD Altima SL. Will pick it up tomorrow. This will be the first time in 15 years I will not have ownership of a Subaru vehicle. Seems weird.

So at 110K my 2010 head gaskets failed. So I payed $2500 for head gaskets replacement that included the heads and valve seats resurfaced, new water pump, thermostat, fan water temp switch, and oil pressure switch. I also had them use the 5th Generation Subaru recommended blue antifreeze. We used Peak OET blue from Autozone.
Anyway now my car has much more power and pep when I hit the pedal. Not sure if I am going to have to do this every 100K miles.
Was that Subaru or independent dealer????

I'm sure it does but it's an apples to oranges comparison. Your remote start isn't the same one installed in the OPs car most likely and definitely isn't the same TWO I had installed in my own 2016. My experience is detailed elsewhere but in a nutshell, my dealer installed an OEM plug and play Subaru remote starter in my car before I took delivery. It soon failed to work properly. Warranty replaced it. That one soon began malfunctioning. SOA bought it back from me and I removed it myself. A contact at SIA flat out said the current (at that time) remote starter was junk, to remove it and go aftermarket.
So I did.

What after market unit did you go with?

All I can say is WOW. GLWS

So was your lease offer good for the Impreza? It seems like they aren't that competitive at the moment based on what the dealer near me (NoVa) said. And with the other increased costs vs. buying a used car (higher taxes, insurance, etc.) it's like Subaru is steering people away from leases. I have the stupid personal property tax to deal with here in VA that you don't have up in MD, though. (Or am I wrong and you guys also have that?)
No personal property tax in Md.

I put the stock tires on some 18x8.5" +44 Flow-Form Rota Grid wheels. Even the regular cast Grids are a good bit lighter than stock at 22.0 pounds, but the flow-form ones are another three pounds lighter than that.
Switching back to the 18" wheels/tires from the 20's, the car definitely feels floatier in terms of handling, and more vague in the steering. The tall sidewalls definitely are good for ride comfort, though. Even major potholes just sort of get sponged up, whereas with the 20's I tried to avoid them.

Did you notice any difference in gas mileage

My 2 cents. Leasing is great for those who need/like a new car every 2 or 3 years. Since you never own it if you took out a loan.

I like my Firestone Indy 500's.. Was surprised how good they are in the rain.
-
I removed my summer tires and put on my winter tires last night. The weather forecast changed since last weekend and we have couple days where the temperature will be in the 30's and the overnight will be in the 20's, so I am definitely below the 40 degree temps of the summer tires. I hoping the towns don't have to salt the roads tonight since it going to be raining tonight and around freezing tomorrow morning. I really don't want to drive my Legacy in the salt.
Yeah been debating about switching myself. Maybe later this month. Firestones Indy 500 off and Blitzzaks on.

I have 235/40/18 Firestone Indy 500's on Rota Tarmac 3 Rims, 18x8 with 48mm offset. They are working great for me..

Put on a new V-Belt and put in a new engine air filter. Man, that automatic tensioner made it too easy to do - took about 5 minutes from start to finish! It was actually faster than the engine air filter as I tried the equivalent WIX filter but think I got one a little out of spec/warped as the air box around it would not close properly. I just ended up getting another OEM one for a few dollars more that fit just as expected.
Curious A 2 year old car needed a new V-Belt all ready>>>

I paid almost that amount for a 2009 2.51 SE with 52K miles on it two years ago. That's too many miles for that price

Wifey decided on a legacy. We considered a 19', because leftover season. But dang, they got me at all new, the 2.4 DI turbo and fancy interior. Not much more dollars and seemingly a car I will dig that much longer. I'm chasing a quote and more insight on delivery timing.
Don't worry, this means my 05 GT will get a 6speed and more turbo
Were you able to test drive the 2019 and 2020 for comparison?
-
BUMP.. Any more inputs. I'm still torn between buying a brand new leftover 2019 3.6R or a 2020 Legacy XT.. Is the Gen 7 cabin that much quieter then the Gen 6.
-
It’s a nice car, but few things are missed:
Some of the positives:
The interior looks fantastic, high quality leather on touring.
Huge entertainment system with separate processors for controls.
Very quiet cabin, acoustic windshield and windows to reduce noise.
Lane centering is fantastic, wish I had such feature on my 2018 legacy.
=====================
Ice Wolf how more quiet was the cabin vs your 2018. I'm assuming there was no difference between the 2018 and 2019 Legacy cabins

I’d rather they stop it. They’ve had some bad experiences with bad supply parts before. People don’t care that the “supply company” had inferior quality stuff. At the end of the day their Subaru had a problem.
+1 on that statement..

Oh, you mean like the Auto Hobby Shop on a Military Base ? Do they still have those if anyone on here is a recent veteran.
YEP they still exist... Maybe not ALL bases...
-
Got the car aligned making use of my lifetime alignment with Firestone. No more slight wobble between 60 - 80 mph on the highway and the steering wheel was slightly off center. All is fine now.
-
Personally I'm waiting to grab a left over 2019 3.6r Legacy once the 2020 models start selling. They are larger and roomier than my 2009 but I could use the extra room. My 2009 is okay but I'm ready for a newer model. My head gaskets need looking into and I think I would rather move on than pay for that maintenance. I now have over 98K on the car.
-
Replaced the rear brake pads. As rusty as the calipers looked was sure i would have a hard time with the caliper bolts but they came off easy. Used the Wearever silver pads.. the job was simple.

I'm looking to snag a H6 2019 cheap
I'm with you on that. Hopefully white since I've never owned a white car.

I swear by the Conti DWS 06’s. There is no substitute for winter tires, but if you don’t have the room for two sets, these are fantastic year round. I’ve had them on two different cars and my wife’s.
+1 on these ...

The true test to determine if you bought the right car is simple......park it and walk away....look back at it and if it makes you smile you have made the right purchase
I still do
